The Bandshell is an open-air venue run by the Rhythm Foundation for the City of Miami Beach. Shows go on rain or shine, only personal-item bags are allowed, and North Beach parking costs $2 an hour after 6pm. Our front desk is staffed 24 hours, so a late return is never a problem. ## How close we are to the Bandshell We're a couple of blocks away. The Miami Beach Bandshell is at 7275 Collins Avenue, at 73rd Street. Our gate is at 7418 Harding Avenue, a little north and one street west. On a concert night you walk down to 73rd, cross to Collins, and you're there. The walk home is the same few blocks. That's most of the reason to stay up here for a show. No ride to book, no lot to find, no drive back across the causeways at midnight. This is the slower Miami, and a concert night here keeps the same pace. ## What the Bandshell is The Bandshell is an open-air concert venue owned by the City of Miami Beach and run since 2015 by the Rhythm Foundation, which has been presenting international music in Miami for more than 35 years. The venue says it welcomed more than 70,000 people to over 140 public concerts, festivals and events last year. The program is the part we like. It leans global and local at once: a Rio-style samba night, a Puerto Rican bomba and plena festival, Colombian cumbia, Afro-Cuban orchestras, modern jazz, funk. A good share of the nights are free. North Beach still has its soul, and the Bandshell is one of the places you can hear it. ## What's on this fall and winter These are the shows on the Bandshell's own calendar as of mid-October 2026. Lineups change, so check the venue's site before you plan a trip around one. | Date | Show | Doors / start | Ticket | |---|---|---|---| | Sat Oct 24 | John Scofield's "Electrospective" | 8:00 PM | Paid | | Sun Oct 25 | 3rd Festival de Bomba y Plena | 5:00 PM | Free, RSVP | | Sat Nov 7 | Roda de Samba with Soul Samba | 8:00 PM | Paid | | Sun Nov 8 | Fall For Dance NOW! | 7:00 PM | Paid | | Thu Nov 19 | North Beach Social: Abstract Citizen | 7:30 PM | Free, RSVP | | Sat Nov 21 | Buena Vista Orchestra | 8:00 PM | Paid | | Fri Nov 27 | Thanksgiving Roller Disco | 5:00 PM | Free, RSVP | | Wed Dec 16 | Nicole Henry holiday concert | 7:30 PM | Paid | | Thu Dec 17 | North Beach Social: Mr. Pauer & Friends | 8:00 PM | Free, RSVP | | Thu Dec 31 | Lettuce, New Year's Eve | 8:30 PM | Paid | | Fri Jan 1 | Lettuce, second night | 7:30 PM | Paid | | Sun Feb 14 | Ibeyi | 8:00 PM | Paid | If you only catch one, make it a North Beach Social night. It's the Bandshell's free monthly community music series, it falls on a Thursday, and all it asks is an RSVP. It's the closest thing to how the neighborhood actually spends an evening. For a bigger night, the Buena Vista Orchestra on November 21 and the two Lettuce shows over New Year's are the ones we'd book early. ## The Bandshell's house rules, before you walk over The short version: small bag, no outside drinks, and don't count on rain to cancel anything. From the venue's own FAQ: - **Weather**: the venue is open-air under a canopy. Shows run rain or shine, and rain is not a reason for a refund. - **Bags**: personal-item size only. No backpacks or large bags, and security checks every bag. - **Food and drink**: there's a full bar and light bites at every event. Outside food and drink aren't allowed. There's a free water refill station inside. - **Seating**: seated shows have seats for everyone. Standing shows have a limited number of chairs; ask at the check-in table if you need one. - **Club Boxes**: 10 cabanas on a raised riser along the back wall. One Club Box ticket covers six admissions. - **Tickets**: not refundable once bought. If a show is canceled or postponed, the venue handles refunds directly. - **Access**: fully wheelchair accessible, restrooms included. Our room key fits in a pocket, which helps with the bag rule. ## Parking, if you do bring a car Parking in North Beach is no longer free after 6pm. It's $2 an hour. The Bandshell points drivers to the municipal lot across the street at 73rd Street and Collins Avenue, a smaller lot at 75th Street and Ocean Terrace, and the Deauville municipal lot at 260 72nd Street. Some side streets are resident-only, so read the signs. For parking with us, our Reservations team has the current options and rates. Once you're here, there's no reason to move the car for a show. ## Making a night of it from here Check-in is from 4:00 pm, which leaves time to settle in before an 8:00 show. The Courtyard Pool is open from sunrise to sunset, so the late afternoon is the hour for it. Teak decking laid like a yacht's, palms at the edges, usually very few people. The beach is a short walk east, and we have sunbeds and umbrellas waiting for you there. After the show, The Desk That Never Sleeps is exactly that: someone of the house is awake at any hour for keys, luggage and directions. Come back at midnight and you won't be ringing a bell in the dark. The next morning, The Breakfast Table is laid out with warm croissants, fruit, cold-pressed juices and yogurt. The Gym & Sauna has an infrared sauna if the dancing went long. The courtyard is where the day really begins. Check-out is at 11:00 am. ## A note on who stays with us We're a small house: 29 rooms in a 1948 building, every piece of furniture made for it. We welcome guests aged 12 and over, and we ask that pets stay home, though certified support animals are welcome. The Bandshell itself is family-friendly, so if you're traveling with younger children, a concert can still be part of the trip; we're just not the right base for it. --- ## Looking for a Quiet Hotel in Miami Beach? Start at the North End Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/blog/quiet-hotel-miami-beach > If you want a quiet hotel in Miami Beach, book the north end of the island rather than the south. We're at 7418 Harding Avenue in North Beach, a house of 29 rooms and suites over two floors, built around a courtyard pool that's open sunrise to sunset. No pets, no guests under 12, and someone of the house is awake at any hour. The Atlantic is a short walk east, and Bal Harbour Shops is just north of us. This is the slower Miami. Quiet in Miami Beach is mostly a question of which end of the island you book. The south end is built for noise and does it well. The north end, where we are, was built for people who live here. We're at 7418 Harding Avenue in North Beach, one block back from Collins, and the difference is audible the moment you're north of 63rd Street. This is the slower Miami. ## What quiet actually means at our place It means a small house. We have 29 rooms and suites across two floors, a ground level and an upper level reached by stairs. That's the whole property. There's no tower, no conference floor, no lobby bar turning over a few hundred people a night. It also means a few rules we don't apologise for. We don't take guests under 12 years old, and the limit is enforced at check-in rather than mentioned and forgotten. We don't allow pets, though certified support animals are welcome. We're 100% smoke free inside, with a designated smoking area out front. Those three policies do more for the sound of a courtyard at 9pm than any amount of soft furnishing. Felix designed each room himself, and every piece in them is custom. The teak underfoot is laid in a yacht deck pattern. Mark Cherry's commissioned pieces are on the walls. We mention this not as decoration but because it's the reason the house reads as one thing rather than a collection of standard rooms with a theme applied. ## The courtyard is where the day really begins Our pool sits in the middle of the house, ringed in teak decking and native palms, with poolside dining from our restaurant. It's open sunrise to sunset. Come down at 8am, before the heat sets in, and you'll usually have the water to yourself. Wrapped around it is the Courtyard Garden, a pocket of native green that hides us from the street. It's the part of the property guests tend to describe when they come back. Not the view, not the lobby. The quiet corners under the palms. ## The beach, and what's around us The Atlantic is a short walk east of our gate, and we keep sunbeds and umbrellas waiting on the quieter sand. That sand is the argument for North Beach in one line: same ocean as South Beach, a fraction of the people on it. Bal Harbour Shops is just north of us, an open-air shopping centre where the designer flagships sit under fig trees rather than inside a mall. If you want it, it's there, and you can be back in the courtyard before lunch. West of Collins on 71st Street you'll find the Normandy Fountain district, a walkable spur of small restaurants around a fountain plaza, including Silverlake Bistro at 1211 71st Street and the Italian kitchen Capri New Style, which sits across from the fountain itself. These are neighbourhood places, not reservations you make a month out. North Beach still has its soul. ## Who this suits, and who it doesn't It suits couples, solo travellers, and people who want their evening to end on a lounger rather than in a queue. It suits anyone who has done South Beach once and found the trade not worth it. It suits guests who like knowing that someone of the house is awake at any hour, which ours is, every hour, for keys and luggage and quiet fixes. It does not suit families with young children, because of the age minimum. It does not suit anyone who wants to walk out of the lobby into the nightlife. We're a drive from that, deliberately. ## Practical notes before you book Check-in is after 4:00pm and check-out is 11:00am. If you're arriving early, tell us in advance and we'll do what we can with what's free that morning. Rates are quoted in U.S. dollars and are subject to 14% tax and a resort fee of $50, both added to the nightly rate. We're a cash-free house: all major credit cards, no cheques, no cash at check-out. Bring a valid government-issued ID for check-in, which we scan for our records. We're about a 30-minute drive from Miami International Airport. For parking, contact our reservations team, who can tell you the current options and rates near the hotel. Quiet luxury you feel rather than see. That's the whole proposition, and it's easier to deliver at this end of the island. --- ## A Miami Beach Hotel With a Sauna: Inside Our Gym & Sauna in North Beach Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/blog/miami-beach-hotel-with-sauna > Yes, we're a Miami Beach hotel with a sauna. The Gym & Sauna at our North Beach house has an infrared sauna cabin by Nordik Recovery next to a gym with a treadmill, Peloton bikes, benches and dumbbells. It's open 24 hours, included for guests aged 16 and over, needs no reservation, and comes with robes, embroidered towels and cold water. It's reserved for hotel guests: we don't sell day passes. ## Yes, we have a sauna We do. The Gym & Sauna sits behind French doors off our courtyard, and at its center is an infrared sauna cabin by Nordik Recovery. It's open 24 hours, it's included in your stay, and you don't need to book it. The one condition is age: the room is for guests 16 and over. It's also only for people staying with us. We don't sell day passes to the gym, the sauna or the pool. ## Infrared, not steam: what that means here Our sauna gives you a long, dry heat, not a steam room. The cabin is pale wood with a glass door, warmed by infrared panels rather than heated rocks and water. The small things are already there when you arrive. Robes hang on the hook beside the door. Towels embroidered with the key and palm of our house mark are rolled on the bench. A glass dispenser of cold water sits on the side, with shelves of clean towels next to it. A teak mat lies at the door, in the same yacht-deck pattern that runs through the rest of the house. We're not a spa, and we won't pretend to be one. There are no treatment rooms and no steam room on our list. What we have is a good sauna in a quiet room, and it's yours at any hour. ## The gym around it The gym shares the sauna's warm walls and linen curtains, so it feels like another room of the house rather than a fitness center. Here's what's in it: | Equipment | Details | |---|---| | Cardio | A treadmill and Peloton bikes | | Strength | Adjustable benches and dumbbell racks along a mirrored wall | | Floor work | Yoga mats, foam rollers and resistance bands | | Sauna | Infrared cabin by Nordik Recovery | | Extras | Robes, towels and cold drinking water | The treadmill faces a bay of tall windows onto palms and tropical planting, so a morning run passes in green. A screen on the wall shows the sea. Light comes in on three sides through the windows and French doors. ## How we'd use it: a morning at the house The courtyard is where the day really begins, and the gym is a few steps from it. This is the order we'd suggest. 1. **Train early.** Thirty minutes on the treadmill or a Peloton, while the house is still quiet. 2. **Sit in the sauna.** Take your time. Robe and towel are waiting, and the water is cold. 3. **Breakfast.** The Breakfast Table is laid with croissants, fruit on woven tiers, cold-pressed juices on ice, Greek yogurt and coffee. Carry a plate out to the courtyard. 4. **Swim.** The Courtyard Pool opens at sunrise. Around 8am, before the heat sets in, you'll often have it to yourself. 5. **Walk to the beach.** The Atlantic is a short walk east from our gate, along Miami Beach Oceanside Park, with sunbeds and umbrellas waiting. Because the room never closes, a second session after the beach works just as well. Plenty of our guests save the sauna for the end of the day. ## Who can use it The rules are short: - **Guests only.** Not open to the public, and no day passes. - **Age 16 and over** for The Gym & Sauna. - **Age 12 and over** for The Courtyard Pool, and for staying at the house at all. - **No reservation needed.** Walk in at any hour. If you have a question at 3am, someone of the house is awake at the desk. ## Why a sauna fits a house like ours We're 29 rooms in a 1948 residence that Felix Cohen restored in North Beach, a long way from the South Beach crowds. Quiet luxury you feel rather than see: a warm cabin, a rolled towel, cold water, and no one else waiting for the bench. If that's the kind of trip you have in mind, our rooms page is the next stop. --- ## What It's Like to Stay in North Beach, Miami's Quiet End Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/blog/north-beach-miami-boutique-hotel > North Beach, or NoBe, is the residential north end of Miami Beach, roughly between 63rd Street and the Surfside line, and it is the quiet alternative to South Beach. We're a boutique house in it: 29 rooms over two floors in a 1948 building at 7418 Harding Avenue, with a courtyard pool on teak decking, a planted garden that hides us from the street, and the Atlantic a short walk from the gate. Felix designed each room himself, and the art was commissioned from Mark Cherry. Come here for low buildings, old family restaurants on 71st Street, and Bal Harbour Shops a few minutes north. This is the slower Miami. ## Where North Beach actually is North Beach is the north end of the island, the stretch of Miami Beach above the big hotels and below the Surfside town line. Locals call it NoBe. The city's own historic resort district runs along Collins Avenue from 63rd to 71st Streets, which gives you the shape of it: low post-war buildings, a grid of residential streets, and the Atlantic on one side of you the whole way. We're at 7418 Harding Avenue, a block in from the ocean. Harding runs north from our door into Surfside and then into Bal Harbour, so the three read as one long street that gets a little more expensive as you go. South Beach is twenty-odd minutes down Collins when you want it. Most of our guests go once. ## Why people choose this end over South Beach Because nothing here is performing. North Beach still has its soul: Cuban and Argentine kitchens, old Italian family restaurants, people walking dogs at seven in the morning, buildings three and four storeys tall instead of thirty. There is no queue to get into anything. The beach in front of us is the same Atlantic they have in South Beach, with a fraction of the people on it. That is the honest trade. If you came to Miami for a club at two in the morning, this is the wrong end of the island and we'd rather tell you now. If you came to swim, eat well, read in the shade, and sleep, you are in exactly the right place. ## The house itself We have 29 rooms and suites across two floors in a 1948 building. The ground floor and an upper level, and the upper level is reached by stairs only, which matters if you travel with a lot of luggage or need step-free access. We do have an accessible suite on the ground floor with a walk-in shower. Everything here carries Felix's personal touch. He designed each room himself and the furniture is custom, not specified from a catalogue. The art on the walls was commissioned from Mark Cherry. Underfoot around the pool there is teak laid in a yacht deck pattern, which is the kind of detail you notice on the second day rather than the first. The rooms carry their own names rather than grades: the Nest Room and the Elegance Room look toward the garden or the pool, the Signature Room has a Juliet balcony over the water, and the Grand Luxe Suite is the largest of the house, with a separate bedroom and living room, a king and a sofa bed for a third. ## The courtyard, which is the actual point The courtyard is where the day really begins. A pool ringed in teak decking and native palms, poolside dining by day, and a planted garden that hides the maison from the street so that you stop hearing Harding Avenue after about an hour. Go down at eight, before the heat sets in, and you will usually have the water to yourself. The pool stays quiet well into the evening. The beach is a short walk from the gate. We keep sunbeds and umbrellas waiting on the quieter sand, so you can leave with a towel and nothing else. ## Eating within walking distance The one we send people to most is Café Prima Pasta at 414 71st Street. Family Italian, over thirty years on that block, tables on the sidewalk, and a wine list out of proportion to the size of the room. Go early in the evening or accept that you will wait, because they don't rush the tables and you won't want them to. For a bigger night, go north instead. Bal Harbour Shops at 9700 Collins Avenue is about twenty blocks up, a few minutes by car, and the restaurants inside it are a destination whether or not you shop. Carpaccio, on the ground floor since 1995, is the busy Italian lunch; Makoto, from chef Makoto Okuwa, is the serious dinner, and worth booking ahead. ## Practical things worth knowing before you book Check-in is after 4:00 pm, check-out is 11:00 am, and someone of the house is awake at any hour, so late flights are fine. Tell us your arrival time in advance and we'll do what we can about an early room. We're a small, privately owned, referral-driven house, which shows up in two policies people are sometimes surprised by. Children above 12 years are welcome, younger children are not, and that minimum age is enforced at check-in. Pets stay home, though certified support animals are welcome. We're entirely smoke free indoors, with a designated smoking area in front of the building. Rates are in U.S. dollars and carry 14% tax plus a 50 USD resort fee. We're cash free: a major credit or debit card at check-out, no checks. Miami International Airport is about a thirty-minute drive, and we'll happily arrange a car rather than leave you to the kerb. ## A fair warning This is a small house and it is deliberately unspectacular. Quiet luxury you feel rather than see. If you want a lobby with a DJ in it, there are twenty of those twenty minutes south, and no hard feelings. If you want to swim before breakfast and hear birds instead of bass, come north. --- ## Adults-Only Hotel in Miami Beach? How Our 12-and-Up House Works Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/blog/adults-only-hotel-miami-beach > If you're searching for an adults-only hotel in Miami Beach, we're close but not strict: we welcome guests aged 12 and over, and reservations for younger children aren't honored. We're a 29-room house in a restored 1948 residence in North Beach, with The Courtyard Pool for guests 12 and up, The Gym & Sauna for 16 and up, no infant cots and no pets (certified support animals are welcome). If you need an 18-and-over property, we're not the right fit. ## Are we an adults-only hotel? Not strictly. We welcome guests aged 12 and over, and reservations for anyone younger aren't honored at check-in. That makes us an adults-leaning house rather than an adults-only one. If you need a property that admits only guests 18 and over, we're not it, and we'd rather say so here than at the desk. What the rule means in practice: no toddlers at the pool, no cots in the rooms, and a courtyard that keeps its calm through the day. ## Why we set the line at 12 We set the age at 12 because of the size of the house. We have 29 rooms and suites around one courtyard pool, in a 1948 Miami Beach residence that Felix Cohen restored, keeping the original stucco walls and Spanish barrel roof tiles. With that few rooms, every guest shapes the mood. The rule shows up in the details: - **The Courtyard Pool**: for guests 12 and up. - **The Gym & Sauna**: for guests 16 and up. - **Cots**: we don't provide cots for infants. - **Pets**: we ask that they stay at home. Certified support animals are welcome. ## How we compare with a strictly adults-only hotel The difference is the minimum age and little else. Here is how it plays out. | | Our house | A strictly adults-only hotel | |---|---|---| | Minimum age to stay | 12 | A fixed adult minimum, such as 18 or 21 | | Teenagers | Welcome from 12 | Not admitted | | Infants and cots | Not accommodated | Not accommodated | | Pool access | Guests 12 and up | Adults only | | Gym access | Guests 16 and up | Adults only | If you're travelling as a couple, the experience is close to the same. If you're bringing a 13-year-old, we're one of the few quiet options that will take you both. ## What the house is like for couples Most of our rooms are built around a king bed, and every piece of furniture in them was designed for the house. Everything here carries Felix's personal touch: the commissioned works by Mark Cherry on the walls, the teak yacht deck pattern embossed underfoot, the burnt orange and turquoise that run from room to room. A few rooms couples tend to ask about: - **Nest Room**: a king bed and garden views, our most intimate room. - **Signature Room**: a king bed and a Juliet balcony over the pool. - **Atelier Suite**: pool views, with a separate bedroom and living room. - **Grand Luxe Suite**: the largest room of the house, with a separate bedroom and living room, a king bed and a sofa bed for a third guest. You can see every room, with photos, on our rooms page. ## A day here, start to finish The courtyard is where the day really begins. Breakfast is laid out at The Breakfast Table: croissants and pastries in wicker baskets, fruit on woven tiers, cold-pressed juices on ice, Greek yogurt and fresh coffee. Fill a plate and carry it out to the courtyard or back to your room. The pool is open from sunrise to sunset. Go early, around 8am, before the heat sets in, and you'll often have the water to yourself. The Atlantic is a short walk east from our gate, along Miami Beach Oceanside Park, and sunbeds and umbrellas wait for you there. Bal Harbour and Surfside sit just to the north of us for an afternoon of wandering. The Gym & Sauna is open around the clock, behind French doors off the courtyard. And someone of the house is awake at the desk whenever you are. We don't have a restaurant. In the evening, most of our guests take a walk down 71st Street to the open-air cafés, or head north to Bal Harbour. ## Before you book A few practical points, so nothing surprises you: - Check-in is after 4:00 pm and check-out is at 11:00 am. - We scan a valid government-issued ID at check-in. - The house has two floors. The upper level is reached by stairs only. If you need step-free access, ask us about the accessible Elegance Suite, which has a walk-in shower. - We're 100% smoke-free, with a designated smoking area in front of the hotel. This is the slower Miami. If the 12-and-up rule suits the trip you have in mind, we'd be glad to have you. --- ## A Miami Beach Hotel Suite for 3 Adults: Which of Our Suites to Choose Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/blog/miami-beach-hotel-suite-for-3-adults > For three adults sharing one Miami Beach hotel suite, we point you to our Grand Luxe Suite or our Atelier Suite in North Beach. Both have a bedroom with a king bed and a separate living room with a sofa bed, so the third person sleeps behind a different door. The Grand Luxe is our largest room at just over 600 square feet. The Atelier is about 510 square feet and looks onto the courtyard pool. We have two of each among our 29 rooms on Harding Avenue, so for busy dates it pays to book early. Three adults, one suite, and nobody sleeping at the foot of someone else's bed. That's the request we hear, and in our house it has two good answers: the Grand Luxe Suite and the Atelier Suite. ## Which of our suites works for three adults The Grand Luxe Suite and the Atelier Suite are the two we recommend for three. Each one is laid out as a bedroom with a king bed and a separate living room with a sofa bed. Two people take the bedroom, the third takes the living room, and there's a door between you. We have 29 rooms in all, and only two of each of these suites. If you're three and your dates are fixed, book these first. ## The Grand Luxe Suite: the most room in the house The Grand Luxe is our largest room, at just over 600 square feet. The bedroom centres on a king bed. The living room has the sofa bed and space to spread out, so the third guest isn't living out of a suitcase in a corner. The bathroom is private and attached, with a double vanity and a walk-in shower. That double vanity matters more than it sounds when three people are getting ready for dinner at the same time. You'll also have air conditioning, high-speed WiFi and a television, though the light through the foliage usually wins. We write it into the room's own description: the Grand Luxe welcomes a third guest without crowding anyone. Of our two suites for three, this is the one we'd choose for a longer stay. ## The Atelier Suite: two rooms, with the pool in view The Atelier Suite is about 510 square feet, with the same shape: a bedroom with a king bed, a living room with a sofa bed. What it adds is the view. The Atelier looks onto the courtyard pool, and the water stays in sight from the suite. It has the same private bathroom with a double vanity and a walk-in shower, plus air conditioning, WiFi and a TV. If your three are the kind who will be in the pool by 8am, before the heat sets in, this is the suite we'd give you. ## What about the Junior Suite? The Junior Suite is 420 square feet with a king bed and a sofa bed in the same space. We describe it as a private retreat for two. It has no separate living room, so for three adults who want their own space at night, we'd steer you to the Atelier or the Grand Luxe instead. For two people who want more room than a standard room gives, the Junior Suite is the one, and we have six of them. ## Our suites side by side | | Grand Luxe Suite | Atelier Suite | Junior Suite | |---|---|---|---| | Size | Just over 600 sq ft | About 510 sq ft | 420 sq ft | | Layout | Bedroom plus separate living room | Bedroom plus separate living room | One open space | | Beds | King bed and sofa bed | King bed and sofa bed | King bed and sofa bed | | View | Through the foliage | The courtyard pool | Natural light through the room | | Bathroom | Double vanity, walk-in shower | Double vanity, walk-in shower | Double vanity, walk-in shower | | How many we have | 2 | 2 | 6 | | Our pick for | Three adults, longer stays | Three adults who live by the pool | Two people wanting more room | ## Before you book for three A few house rules shape a stay for three, and it's better you hear them from us now. - **Ages**: we're a house for guests aged 12 and over. Reservations that include anyone under 12 aren't honoured at check-in, and we don't provide cots for infants. - **Stairs**: our building has two floors, and the upper level is reached by stairs only. The suites are not step-free. If anyone in your party needs level access, tell us before you book. - **Times**: check-in is after 4pm and check-out is at 11am. Arriving early? Let us know your arrival time and we'll do what we can, depending on availability. - **Fees**: rates are quoted in U.S. dollars and are subject to a 14% tax and a $50 resort fee, on top of the nightly rate. - **Payment**: we're a cash-free house. We take all major credit cards. ## What the three of you share outside the suite The suite is yours. The rest of the house is shared by everyone staying with us, and it's built for slow days. The courtyard pool is open from sunrise to sunset. The courtyard is where the day really begins, and it is especially peaceful in the morning, before anyone else is down. Our Gym & Sauna has weights, a Peloton bike and an infrared sauna for a long sit after a run. The Breakfast Table is laid out each morning with warm croissants, fruit, cold-pressed juices and yogurt. The Atlantic is a short walk from our gate, with sunbeds and umbrellas waiting on the sand. And someone from our front desk, The Desk That Never Sleeps, is awake whenever you are, for keys, luggage, directions and quiet fixes. Everything here carries Felix's personal touch. He designed each room himself, and every piece of furniture is custom, from the teak yacht deck pattern underfoot to the pieces Mark Cherry made for our walls. Three of you will notice different things. That's part of the pleasure of sharing a suite here. If you'd like us to hold a Grand Luxe or Atelier for your dates, tell us who's coming and when. Let me make that happen for you. --- ## A Design Hotel in Miami Beach: Felix's 1948 House in North Beach Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/blog/design-hotel-miami-beach > Looking for a design hotel in Miami Beach? We're a 1948 building at 7418 Harding Avenue in North Beach with 29 rooms and suites on two floors. Felix designed each room himself and every piece of furniture is custom. Mark Cherry's commissioned pieces hang on the walls, and the teak yacht-deck pattern runs underfoot through the house and around the courtyard pool. We welcome guests aged 12 and up. ## What makes us a design hotel Felix designed each room himself, and every piece of furniture in them is custom. That is the short answer. We're a 1948 building on Harding Avenue in North Beach, 29 rooms and suites on two floors, and nothing in them came out of a catalogue. Mark Cherry's commissioned pieces hang on our walls. The teak yacht-deck pattern you walk on in the house is the same one wrapped around the pool. Everything here carries Felix's personal touch. We don't think of design as decoration. It's the reason a small house at the north end of the island feels the way it does: calm, considered, a little private. ## The building: 1948, two floors, 29 rooms Our building dates from 1948. It sits at 7418 Harding Avenue, in the part of Miami Beach locals call North Beach, just south of Surfside. There are two levels: the ground floor, and an upper level reached by stairs only. If stairs matter to you, tell us when you book and we'll place you on the ground floor where we can. Twenty-nine rooms is a deliberate size. It means we know who is staying, the pool is rarely crowded, and the house stays quiet. North Beach still has its soul, and we wanted a building that matched it rather than one that shouted over it. ## The art on our walls: Mark Cherry The artwork in the house was commissioned from Mark Cherry for these rooms and halls. These are pieces made for this building, not prints chosen to fill a wall. If you'd like to know more about a particular piece, ask at the desk. Someone of the house is awake at any hour. ## Teak, laid like a yacht deck The teak pattern is the detail guests mention most. Our designer embossed a yacht-deck stripe through the house, and the pool decking follows the same pattern: narrow teak boards, smooth and warm underfoot. Walk barefoot from your room to the water and you'll notice it. That's the idea. Quiet luxury you feel rather than see. ## Our rooms, one by one Every room has a king bed, a private bathroom, air conditioning, WiFi and a TV. What changes is the outlook and the layout. | Room | Bed | Outlook and layout | Who it suits | |---|---|---|---| | Nest Room | King | Garden views | Two people who want a small, quiet hideaway | | Elegance Room | King | Views toward the garden or the pool | Couples on a longer stay | | Signature Room | King | Juliet balcony over the pool, about 260 sq ft | Anyone who wants to open the doors onto the water | | Junior Suite | King plus sofa bed | One open space with room to spread out | Couples who want more room, or a third guest | | Atelier Suite | King | Separate bedroom and living room, pool views | Longer stays where a sitting room matters | | Grand Luxe Suite | King plus sofa bed | Our largest rooms: separate bedroom and living room | Two people who want space, or three traveling together | | Elegance Suite, Accessible | King | Generous open space and an accessible walk-in shower | Guests who need a step-in shower | We have two Grand Luxe Suites and four Signature Rooms, so book early if you have your heart set on one. ## The courtyard, at the center of the house The courtyard is where the day really begins. The pool sits in the middle of it, ringed in that teak and shaded at its edges by native palms. It's open from sunrise to sunset. By day, light plates and cold drinks come out to the deck. In the morning, before the heat sets in, you'll often have the water to yourself. Our pool is small by resort standards, on purpose. Breakfast is laid out at The Breakfast Table, and most guests carry a plate out to the courtyard rather than eating indoors. ## Who we're right for, and who we're not We're a house for adults and older children. Guests must be 12 or older, and reservations that include younger children won't be honored at check-in. We don't accept pets, though certified support animals are welcome. The whole building is smoke-free, with a designated smoking area in front. If you want a scene, a DJ at the pool or a lobby full of people, we're not that hotel. If you want a well-made room, a still pool and a desk that never sleeps, we think you'll be at home here. This is the slower Miami. --- ## A NoBe Miami Hotel, Plainly: What You'll Find in Our 29 Rooms on Harding Avenue Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/blog/nobe-miami-hotel > We're a 29-room NoBe Miami hotel at 7418 Harding Avenue, in the North Beach end of Miami Beach, in a building from 1948 where Felix designed every room himself. We have a courtyard pool open sunrise to sunset, a self-serve breakfast, a gym with an infrared sauna, a front desk staffed around the clock, and the Atlantic a few minutes' walk east at Miami Beach Oceanside Park, with sunbeds and umbrellas waiting. We don't have a restaurant on site, and we welcome guests aged 12 and up. ## What kind of NoBe hotel we are We're a small hotel: 29 rooms and suites in a 1948 building at 7418 Harding Avenue, in North Beach, the part of Miami Beach people shorten to NoBe. The house has two floors around a courtyard. The ground floor opens onto the pool, and the upper level is reached by stairs only. We don't have a restaurant, a ballroom or a crowd. We have a courtyard, a breakfast table, a gym with a sauna, a front desk that's staffed all night, and the ocean a few minutes east of our gate. This is the slower Miami. Below is what we have, and what we don't, so you can decide before you book. ## Our rooms Felix designed each room himself, and every piece of furniture is custom. Mark Cherry's commissioned pieces hang on our walls, and the teak yacht deck pattern runs underfoot through the house. Everything here carries Felix's personal touch. | Room | What you get | |---|---| | Nest Room | King bed, garden views | | Elegance Room | King bed, views toward the garden or the pool | | Signature Room | King bed and a Juliet balcony over the pool | | Junior Suite | King bed plus a sofa bed | | Atelier Suite | Separate bedroom and living room, pool views | | Grand Luxe Suite | Our largest room: separate bedroom and living room, a king bed and a sofa bed for a third person | | Elegance Suite, accessible | King bed, generous open space and an accessible walk-in shower | If you want to look down at the water, book the Signature Room or the Atelier Suite. Travelling as three, the Junior Suite and the Grand Luxe Suite are the two with a sofa bed. If stairs are a concern, tell us when you book, since our upper level has no lift. ## The courtyard pool The courtyard is where the day really begins. Our pool sits at its centre, ringed in teak decking laid like a yacht's and shaded at the edges by native palms. It's open from sunrise to sunset, it's for our guests only (we don't sell day passes), and like the rest of the house it's 12 and up. It's an intimate pool by resort standards, and that's deliberate. In a house this size you'll often have the water to yourself. We'd go at 8am, before the heat sets in. After sunset the swimming stops and the courtyard turns to low, warm light, which is when most of our guests come back down for a quiet hour outside. ## Breakfast, the gym and the sauna Breakfast is a self-serve continental spread at The Breakfast Table. We set out croissants and pastries in wicker baskets, oranges, apples, grapes and bananas on woven tiers, Greek yogurt and jams, cold-pressed juices on ice, glass jars of almonds and pistachios, lemon water and coffee. Fill a plate and carry it out to the courtyard or back to your room. Since we have no restaurant, lunch and dinner happen out in the neighbourhood, and we're glad to point you somewhere. The Gym & Sauna is a quiet room of warm walls and linen curtains. You'll find weights, a Peloton bike and an infrared sauna. Like the pool, it's reserved for people staying with us. ## The beach We're not on the sand, and we don't pretend to be. Out our gate, the Atlantic is a few minutes' walk east, where it opens along Miami Beach Oceanside Park: a wide, unhurried stretch of public beach in North Beach. Sunbeds and umbrellas wait there for our guests, so you can walk over carrying almost nothing. For a longer read on that stretch of sand, our quiet beach page covers it. When an afternoon turns into wandering, most of our guests head north toward Surfside and Bal Harbour; we've written a separate guide for each, linked at the bottom of this page. ## Before you book These are the house rules and costs we'd rather you knew now than at the desk. - **Check-in and check-out**: check-in is after 4pm, check-out is at 11am. Arriving early? Tell us your arrival time and we'll do our best, based on availability. - **Age**: we welcome guests aged 12 and up. Reservations for guests under 12 can't be honoured, and we don't provide cots. - **Pets**: we ask that pets stay at home. Certified support animals are welcome. - **Payment**: we're cash-free. We take all major credit cards and don't accept checks. - **Taxes and fees**: rates are subject to a 14% tax and a $50 resort fee, both added to the nightly rate. - **Smoking**: the house is 100% smoke-free, with a designated smoking area in front of the hotel. - **The desk**: The Desk That Never Sleeps is staffed 24/7, so a late flight is not a problem. Only authorised people have access to the house. - **Getting here**: we're about a 30-minute drive from Miami International Airport. - **Parking**: contact our Reservations Department for current parking options and rates near the hotel. - **ID**: bring a valid government-issued ID. We scan it at check-in. North Beach still has its soul. If that's the Miami you came for, we'd be glad to have you. --- ## A Miami Beach Hotel With Beach Service: How Our Sunbeds and Umbrellas Work Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/blog/miami-beach-hotel-beach-service > We're a Miami Beach hotel with beach service, but we aren't on the sand. From our gate at 7418 Harding Avenue in North Beach, the Atlantic is a few minutes' walk east along Miami Beach Oceanside Park, and sunbeds and umbrellas are waiting there for you. They're included for guests and need no reservation. The beach itself is public; the setup is ours. When you come back, the Courtyard Pool is open from sunrise to sunset and reserved for guests only. ## Do we have beach service? Yes. Sunbeds and umbrellas are set out for our guests a few minutes' walk east of the gate, on the sand along Miami Beach Oceanside Park. They're included in your stay and you don't need to reserve them. Walk out with a book and a towel and carry almost nothing else. We want to be plain about one thing, because guests ask it often: we are not on the sand, and the beach is public. Nobody can fence off the Atlantic. What we give you is the setup waiting when you arrive, and a stretch of North Beach that the crowds heading for South Beach rarely reach. ## Why we chose to sit a short walk back We're on Harding Avenue, one block in from the ocean side of the island, and that distance is part of the design. Our building dates from 1948 and has 29 rooms, arranged around a courtyard that the street can't see into. The beach is where you spend the middle of the day. The house is where you come back to, and it's quiet because it isn't facing the boardwalk. The walk itself is short and flat. Out the gate, head east toward the ocean, and you're there. On the way home you pass open-air cafés and small galleries, which is a better end to a beach afternoon than an elevator. ## How a beach day usually goes here The courtyard is where the day really begins. Most guests start at the Breakfast Table: warm croissants, fruit on woven tiers, cold-pressed juices on ice, yogurt. We don't run a restaurant, so breakfast is the meal we do ourselves, and we do it properly. After that, a few suggestions from the desk: - **Go to the sand early.** The light is softer before the heat sets in, and the sunbeds are already out. Late morning is when the beach starts to fill, even up here. - **Come back for the pool after lunch.** The Courtyard Pool is ringed in teak decking and native palms, and it's open from sunrise to sunset. It's reserved for people staying with us. We don't sell day passes, so the faces around it are the same ones you saw at breakfast. - **Finish in the Gym & Sauna.** A quiet room with warm walls and linen curtains, weights, a Peloton bike, and an infrared sauna for a long sit after a day of salt and sun. ## What the beach up here is like The sand along Miami Beach Oceanside Park is wide and unhurried. There is no strip of clubs behind it, and no parade along the water. North Beach still has its soul, and the beach is where you notice it first. If you want a longer walk, keep heading north along the shore. The Town of Surfside begins at 87th Street and has its own mile of beach, running up to 96th Street. Beyond that, Bal Harbour Shops sits next door to the neighborhood for the afternoons that turn into wandering. ## Who this suits, and who it doesn't This setup suits you if you want the ocean every day but don't want to sleep on top of it. It suits couples and friends, and families with older children: we welcome guests aged 12 and up, and reservations for children under 12 aren't accepted. It doesn't suit you if you need to step from your room straight onto the sand, or if you're looking for a private, gated beach. We'd rather tell you that now than at check-in. ## Before you go down to the beach The Desk That Never Sleeps is staffed around the clock. Ask for directions, leave a bag, or tell us what time you're heading out. If something isn't right when you get to the sand, come back and tell us. This is the slower Miami, and we'd like your beach days to feel that way. --- ## A Romantic Hotel in Miami Beach: How Couples Stay at Our 29-Room House in North Beach Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/blog/romantic-hotel-miami-beach > For a romantic hotel in Miami Beach, we'd point you to the north end of the island, where our 29-room house on Harding Avenue welcomes guests aged 12 and up. Couples usually book the Signature Room (a king bed and a Juliet balcony over the courtyard pool) or the Atelier Suite (a separate bedroom and living room, about 500 square feet, pool views). The Courtyard Pool is open sunrise to sunset, breakfast at The Breakfast Table runs 7-11am, and the beach, where our sunbeds and umbrellas wait, is a few minutes' walk from the gate. A romantic stay in Miami Beach comes down to three things: a small house, a quiet pool and a room worth staying in. We have all three on Harding Avenue in North Beach. We have 29 rooms and suites over two floors, and we welcome guests aged 12 and over, so the courtyard stays calm through the day. This is the slower Miami. Here is how couples tend to spend a stay with us, room by room and hour by hour. ## Why a small house works for two With 29 rooms, you are never one of hundreds. Our pool is intimate by resort standards, and deliberately so. Plenty of mornings, you'll have the water to yourselves. The building dates from 1948. Felix designed the rooms himself and the furniture is custom. Mark Cherry's commissioned pieces hang on the walls, and the teak underfoot is laid in a yacht deck pattern that runs through the house. None of it asks for attention. Quiet luxury you feel rather than see. Our house is for guests aged 12 and up. Reservations that include anyone younger aren't honored at check-in, which is part of why the courtyard sounds the way it does. ## Which room to book as a couple For most couples we recommend the Signature Room. It has a king bed, a walk-in shower and a Juliet balcony that opens onto the pool. At 260 square feet it is made for two and sleeps two. Open the doors in the morning and the water keeps the room company. If you want space to spread out, book the Atelier Suite. It has a separate bedroom and living room, a king bed, a double vanity and pool views, in about 500 square feet. It suits a longer stay, or a couple who likes one room for sleeping and another for reading. We have only two, so they go first on holiday weekends. The Nest Room is the quieter choice: a king bed and garden views, looking away from the pool. The Elegance Room also has a king bed, with views toward the garden or the pool. Our largest room is the Grand Luxe Suite, with a separate bedroom and living room. | Room | Bed | View | Good for | |---|---|---|---| | Signature Room | King | Pool, Juliet balcony | Couples who want the pool in view | | Atelier Suite | King, plus sofa bed | Pool | Longer stays, more room | | Nest Room | King | Garden | The quietest outlook | | Elegance Room | King | Garden or pool | A calm room for two | | Grand Luxe Suite | King, plus sofa bed | Separate living room | The most space we have | One practical note: our upper floor is reached by stairs only. If stairs are a concern, tell us when you book. Our accessible Elegance Suite has a king bed and an accessible walk-in shower. ## The courtyard pool, morning to evening The Courtyard Pool is open from sunrise to sunset, and it sits at the center of the house, a few steps from every ground-floor room. The courtyard is where the day really begins. Go early, before the heat sets in, and the deck is usually empty. Through the day, the courtyard holds the sun from mid-morning until the light turns gold on the stucco. Light plates and cold drinks come out to the deck, unhurried. Native palms shade the edges. After sunset the water stills and the courtyard turns to low, warm light. That is the hour we keep for couples. The pool and courtyard are for our guests only: we don't sell day passes, so the people around you are the people staying with you. ## Breakfast, the sauna and the beach Breakfast is served at The Breakfast Table from 7am to 11am. Expect warm croissants, fruit on woven tiers, cold-pressed juices on ice and yogurt, laid out under the lamps. Eleven is late enough for a slow start. The Gym & Sauna is a quiet room of warm walls and linen curtains, with weights, a Peloton bike and an infrared sauna. A long sit in the sauna before dinner is a good habit to pick up here. The beach is a few minutes on foot from our gate, and we have sunbeds and umbrellas waiting for you on the sand. Our page on [how our beach service works](/blog/miami-beach-hotel-beach-service) has the details. ## Walks to take together North Beach Oceanside Park is the walk we suggest first. It is a city park with its own stretch of beach, about 15-20 minutes on foot from our gate. Go in the late afternoon, when the sand is cooler and you can walk back as the light drops. Surfside starts about 25-30 minutes north of us on foot. It is its own small town, not part of Miami Beach, and it has a quieter feel than the blocks around 71st Street. Our [Surfside guide](/guides/things-to-do-surfside-florida) covers what we send couples to there. For dinner, our [North Beach restaurant guide](/guides/where-to-eat-north-beach-miami) lists the three tables we recommend most often. We don't have a restaurant in the house, so we're happy to point you somewhere good and book ahead if we can. Let me make that happen for you. ## A few things to know before you book We're a smoke-free house, with a designated smoking area in front. Housekeeping comes daily; hang the Do Not Disturb sign and we'll leave you be. Someone from our team is at the front desk around the clock, whatever time you land. Rates are subject to a 14% tax and a $50 resort fee on top of the nightly rate. We're a small, privately owned house with a strict cancellation policy, so check the terms of your rate before you confirm. Planning around a date? Our [Valentine's weekend page](/events-near/valentines-weekend-miami-beach-2027) covers February in North Beach. --- ## A Surfside Area Hotel on Harding Avenue: Staying Just South of Town Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/blog/surfside-area-hotel > If you want a Surfside area hotel, we're at 7418 Harding Avenue in Miami Beach's North Beach, just south of the Town of Surfside, which runs from 87th to 96th Street. Harding Avenue is our street and also Surfside's small shopping district between 94th and 96th. We have 29 rooms in a 1948 building around the Courtyard Pool, with sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach a few minutes east, and Bal Harbour Shops next door to the neighborhood. ## Where we are in relation to Surfside We're just south of it. Our address is 7418 Harding Avenue, in the North Beach part of the City of Miami Beach. The Town of Surfside starts at 87th Street and runs north to 96th Street, from the Atlantic across to the Indian Creek waterway. Head north on Harding from our gate and the street numbers climb from the 74s toward Surfside's line. So we aren't inside the town limits. We're the house you stay in when you want Surfside's pace without paying for a building on its beachfront. ## What Surfside actually is Surfside is a separate town, not a Miami Beach neighborhood. It was incorporated on May 18, 1935, and covers about half a square mile. The 2020 census counted 5,689 residents. It has its own mayor and commission, its own police, and its own mile of beach between 87th and 96th Streets. It's small enough to cross on foot in an afternoon, and that's the appeal. There are no big resorts lining a strip, and the streets behind the beach are mostly low and residential. ## Harding Avenue: our street, and Surfside's main street Harding Avenue runs past our front door, and further north it becomes Surfside's business district, between 94th and 96th Streets. The Town calls it one of the most walkable corridors in the north beach area. It's a few blocks of storefronts, a pharmacy, small offices and places to eat, the sort of street where residents do their errands rather than a place built for visitors. Our advice: go in the morning or late afternoon, browse without a plan, and keep walking north. At 96th Street you're at the edge of town, with Bal Harbour Shops next door to the neighborhood for the afternoons that turn into wandering. ## A little history worth knowing Surfside has older roots than its 1935 founding suggests. In 1923, land clearing for the Altos del Mar development turned up evidence of a Tequesta village, the region's earliest settlers. A dig in 1933 and 1934 uncovered a habitation mound nearly 400 feet long. Today's town was carved from Altos del Mar plats 4, 5 and 6. Knowing that changes how the quiet residential grid reads when you walk it. ## The beach between here and there The beach is just a short walk, and we have sunbeds waiting for you. They're set out a few minutes east of our gate along Miami Beach Oceanside Park, included in your stay, with no reservation needed. The sand is public and wide, and if you walk north along the water you reach Surfside's mile of beach without leaving the shore. ## The house you come back to We're a 1948 building with 29 rooms and suites over two floors, set around a courtyard. Felix designed each room himself, and every piece of furniture is custom. Mark Cherry's commissioned pieces hang on the walls, and the teak yacht deck pattern runs underfoot. Everything here carries Felix's personal touch. What you'll use most: - **The Courtyard Pool**: ringed in teak decking and native palms, open sunrise to sunset, reserved for guests. We don't sell day passes. - **The Breakfast Table**: warm croissants, fruit, cold-pressed juices and yogurt each morning. We don't run a restaurant, so lunch and dinner are out in the neighborhood. - **The Gym & Sauna**: weights, a Peloton bike and an infrared sauna, in a quiet room with linen curtains. - **The Desk That Never Sleeps**: someone of the house is awake at any hour for keys, luggage and directions. ## Who stays with us when they're here for Surfside Mostly couples, friends travelling together, and families with older children. We welcome guests aged 12 and over. People come because they want a slower stretch of the coast and a house small enough that we remember how you take your coffee. This is the slower Miami, and Surfside is part of the reason it stays that way. --- ## A Miami Beach Hotel Room With a Pool View: Our Courtyard Rooms in North Beach Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/blog/miami-beach-hotel-room-pool-view > If you want a Miami Beach hotel room with a pool view, we have two room types that keep the water in sight: the Atelier Suite, about 500 square feet with a separate bedroom and living room for up to four, and the Signature Room, a 260-square-foot king room with a Juliet balcony over the pool for two. Our Elegance Room faces either the garden or the pool. The Courtyard Pool sits at the center of our 29-room house at 7418 Harding Avenue in North Beach, is open sunrise to sunset, and is reserved for guests aged 12 and up. ## Which of our rooms look over the pool Two of our room types are built around the pool view: the Atelier Suite and the Signature Room. A third, the Elegance Room, faces either the garden or the pool, so treat the pool as a possibility there rather than a promise. Everything else in the house looks onto the garden or the street side. We're a small house. There are 29 rooms and suites across two floors at 7418 Harding Avenue, and the pool sits in the middle of all of them. That shapes the view more than any brochure line could. You're looking down at one courtyard, not out over a resort. | Room | View | Size | Beds | Sleeps | How many we have | |---|---|---|---|---|---| | Atelier Suite | Pool | About 500 sq ft | King, plus a sofa bed | Up to 4 | 2 | | Signature Room | Pool, from a Juliet balcony | 260 sq ft | King | 2 | 4 | | Elegance Room | Garden or pool | Not listed | King | 2 | Several | ## The Atelier Suite: the one that truly opens to the water The Atelier Suite is the room to book if the pool view is the point of the trip. It's laid out as two rooms: a bedroom with a king bed, and a separate living room with a sofa bed. Both keep the water in view. That makes it the one suite where you can sit on the sofa with a coffee and watch the light move across the courtyard while someone else is still asleep next door. At just over 500 square feet it's one of our larger rooms. The bathroom has a double vanity and a walk-in shower. There are only two Atelier Suites in the house, so they go first in high season. If you're travelling as three or four, this is also the practical choice, since the sofa bed takes the extra guests. ## The Signature Room: a Juliet balcony over the pool The Signature Room is smaller and made for two. It centres on a king bed, and its Juliet balcony opens onto the pool. A Juliet balcony is a set of doors with a rail rather than a terrace you step out onto, so you won't be taking breakfast outside here. What you get is the doors open in the morning and the turquoise keeping the room company until the last swim. At 260 square feet it's a room for sleeping, reading and heading out. We have four of them, which makes it the easier pool-view room to find on a given night. The bathroom has a walk-in shower. ## The Elegance Room: garden or pool The Elegance Room is a calm king room that looks toward either the garden or the pool, depending on which one you're given. If a pool view matters to you, tell us when you book and we'll note it. If the garden side comes up instead, you're looking into the palms, which is the quieter of the two outlooks anyway. ## What you're actually looking at The Courtyard Pool is an intimate pool by resort standards, and deliberately so. It sits at the centre of the courtyard, wrapped in teak decking laid in the same yacht-deck pattern Felix used through the rest of the house, with native palms shading the edges. The courtyard holds the sun from mid-morning until the light goes gold on the stucco. By day, light plates and cold drinks are brought out to the deck. After dark the water stills and the courtyard turns to low, warm light. The pool itself is open from sunrise to sunset. The courtyard is especially peaceful in the morning, and in a house this size you'll often have the water to yourself before the heat sets in. The pool is for our guests only. We don't sell day passes to the pool or the gym, and our house is for guests aged 12 and over, so there's no shallow-end splashing at 9am. Quiet luxury you feel rather than see. ## Before you book a pool-view room A few things are worth knowing before you choose: - **Stairs**: our house has a ground floor and an upper level, and the upper level is reached by stairs only. If stairs are a concern, mention it when you book. - **Party size**: only the Atelier Suite sleeps more than two. The Signature Room and Elegance Room are king rooms for two. - **Fees**: rates carry a 14% tax and a $50 resort fee on top of the nightly rate. - **Check-in**: from 4pm, with check-out at 11am. Our front desk is staffed around the clock if you land late. The beach is a short walk from the gate, and we have sunbeds and umbrellas waiting there too. Most guests end up doing both: the sand in the late morning, the courtyard pool in the afternoon. This is the slower Miami. --- ## Miami Beach in Winter: The Weather, the Dry Season and How We Spend It Up North Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/blog/miami-beach-in-winter > Miami Beach in winter is warm and mostly dry. The rainy season ends October 15, and in January the average high is about 76°F with a low around 61°F and 1.8 inches of rain for the month. Cold fronts bring the occasional cool night, and lows dip to 50°F or below about three times a year. Daytime highs stay at 70°F or above on all but about 12 days a year, so pool and beach days carry on through the season. Bring one warm layer for the evenings. Winter here is the dry season. The rains officially end on October 15, the humidity lifts, and the days settle into warm afternoons and cooler evenings. It's the season most of our guests ask about, so here's what the numbers say and how we spend it in North Beach. ## What the weather is actually like Expect highs in the mid to upper 70s and lows in the low 60s from January through February. The averages below come from Miami's long-term weather records. Miami Beach sits a few miles east across the bay and runs close to them, though it gets a little less rain over a year (about 57 inches, against roughly 62 for Miami). | Month | Average high | Average low | Rainfall | |---|---|---|---| | January | 76°F | 61°F | 1.8 in | | February | 78°F | 63°F | 2.2 in | | March | 81°F | 66°F | 2.5 in | For comparison, June averages 11 inches of rain. Winter is the quiet part of the calendar. ## Cold fronts, and the one sweater worth packing A few nights each winter turn properly cool. Cold fronts move through from the north and bring most of the season's small amount of rain, followed by drier, cooler air. Lows reach 50°F or below about three times a year, and only rarely drop to 40°F. Freezing weather is almost unheard of on Miami Beach. So pack for summer and add one real layer: a light sweater or jacket for dinner after a front has passed. Highs fail to reach 70°F on only about 12 days a year, which means the cool spells are short. Most mornings after a front are bright and clear. ## How we spend a winter day at the house We start in the courtyard. The Courtyard Pool is open from sunrise to sunset, and in winter that's a shorter day than in July, so the morning hours count for more. The courtyard is where the day really begins. Breakfast is laid out at The Breakfast Table: warm croissants, fruit on woven tiers, cold-pressed juices on ice and yogurt. The Atlantic is a short walk from our gate, and we keep sunbeds and umbrellas waiting there for you. Winter light is lower and softer than in summer, and a January afternoon on the sand at 76°F is the reason many people come here this time of year. On the cooler evenings, The Gym & Sauna earns its place. It's a quiet room with warm walls and linen curtains, and after a beach day an hour in the infrared sauna does what a sweater can't. Someone at The Desk That Never Sleeps is awake whenever you are, if you'd like a dinner suggestion or a taxi at an odd hour. We have 29 rooms in a building from 1948. The house is for guests 12 and over, which keeps the courtyard calm through the holiday weeks when the rest of the island fills up. This is the slower Miami. ## What's on through the season Winter is also when the beach has the most going on, and we've written up the dates that matter most to people staying with us: - **Early December**: Art Basel Miami Beach. Our page on where to stay for it covers the fair from the quiet north end. - **December**: the holiday calendar in North Beach. We keep a list of the events within reach of our gate. - **New Year's Eve**: Lettuce plays the Miami Beach Bandshell, and our New Year's page covers the night on foot. - **February**: Valentine's Day weekend, with Ibeyi at the Bandshell. If you're coming for one of these, book early. Winter is our busiest stretch, and with 29 rooms, the dates around the holidays go first. ## Who winter suits Winter suits you if you want warm days without the summer humidity and afternoon storms. It suits you less if you're after the warmest possible evenings or the lowest rates of the year. You'll need a layer a few nights a season, and the holiday weeks are the most in demand. If your dates are flexible, March keeps the dry weather and pushes the average high to 81°F. --- ## A Miami Beach Hotel With Breakfast Included: The Breakfast Table in North Beach Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/blog/miami-beach-hotel-breakfast-included > Yes, breakfast is included when you stay with us at 7418 Harding Avenue in North Beach, Miami Beach. The Breakfast Table is a self-serve continental spread: croissants and pastries, fresh fruit, Greek yogurt and jams, cold-pressed juices on ice, nuts, lemon water and fresh coffee. It's for guests only. Most people fill a plate and carry it out to the courtyard pool, which opens at sunrise. ## Is breakfast included? Yes. Breakfast at The Breakfast Table is included for guests staying with us, and it isn't open to the public. It's a self-serve continental spread, set out each morning in a small room off the house, and you help yourself whenever you come down. No vouchers, no table to book. We set it the way a friend would set a sideboard. That's the whole philosophy. Nothing elaborate, everything fresh, and enough of it that you don't need to think about food until lunch. ## What's on the table The spread is simple and it doesn't change much, which regular guests tell us they like. - **Croissants and pastries**: in wicker baskets at the start of the counter. - **Fresh fruit**: oranges, apples, grapes and bananas stacked on woven tiers, with small paper-wrapped treats on top. - **Greek yogurt and jams**: in little jars beside the juices. - **Cold-pressed juices**: bottled, kept in a bowl of ice, with greens among them. - **Nuts**: glass jars of almonds, pistachios and mixed nuts on the shelf above. Take a handful for the pool or the walk to the beach. - **Lemon water and fresh coffee**: at the end of the counter. The lamps stay lit against the terracotta walls, so even on a grey morning the room feels warm. ## Where to eat it Take your plate wherever you like. Most guests carry it out to the courtyard, and we'd recommend the same. The courtyard is where the day really begins. The Courtyard Pool opens at sunrise, and in those first hours, before the heat sets in, the deck is at its quietest. The teak underfoot is laid in the same yacht-deck pattern that runs through the house, and the palms keep the edges in shade. If you'd rather stay in, carry breakfast back to your room. Nobody will mind. ## After breakfast: the rest of a morning in the house A slow breakfast tends to turn into a slow morning, and we've arranged the house for that. **The Gym & Sauna** is a quiet room of warm walls and linen curtains. There are weights, a Peloton bike and an infrared sauna. An hour there and a long sit in the heat is how a lot of our guests start the day, before or after eating. **The beach** is a short walk from our gate. We keep sunbeds and umbrellas waiting on the sand, on Miami Beach's quieter northern stretch. The nuts from the breakfast shelf travel well. **The pool** stays open until sunset. By day, light plates and cold drinks come out to the deck, so there's no need to leave if you don't want to. ## Lunch, if you go out For lunch beyond the house, the nearest table is directly across the street. **Blozzom Pizza** is an Italian place specializing in Roman-style pizza al taglio, the light, airy, crisp-bottomed kind sold by the slice. They also do pasta, fresh salads and sandwiches. It's what we suggest for an easy lunch after the beach, when you want something good without a reservation or a walk. For dinner and further afield, our guide to where to eat in North Beach has the tables we send guests to. ## Know before you book Check-in is after 4pm and check-out is at 11am. If you're arriving early, tell us your arrival time and we'll do our best based on availability. Rates are quoted in US dollars and are subject to a 14% tax and a $50 resort fee, added to the nightly rate. We welcome guests aged 12 and over. This is the slower Miami. Breakfast is where it starts. --- ## Miami Beach Without a Car: How We Get Around From North Beach Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/blog/miami-beach-without-a-car > You can do Miami Beach without a car, and North Beach is one of the easier places to try it. From our gate at 7418 Harding Avenue the nearest beach access is a few minutes on foot, North Beach Oceanside Park is 15-20 minutes, and Surfside starts 25-30 minutes away. The free Collins Express trolley runs south to Lincoln Road daily from 8am to 11pm, about every 20 minutes. Rideshare covers the airports: about 30 minutes from Miami International and 35-45 minutes from Fort Lauderdale. ## Yes, and North Beach makes it easier You don't need a car for a stay with us. Most of what our guests do in a day happens on foot from Harding Avenue: the beach in the morning, breakfast, the courtyard pool, a walk over to 71st Street, a few blocks from our gate. Longer trips south run on the free trolley or a rideshare. There's a practical reason too. We don't have on-site parking or valet, so a car is something you'd need to find a space for every day. Most stays here are better without one. This is the slower Miami. ## On foot from our gate The beach is the closest thing to us, a few minutes' walk to the nearest access. Here's how the rest of the north end measures out from 7418 Harding Avenue. | Where | Walk from our gate | What we'd tell you | |---|---|---| | Nearest beach access | A few minutes | Go early, before the heat sets in. | | 71st Street | A few blocks | North Beach's main street, for cafés and errands. | | North Beach Oceanside Park | 15-20 minutes to the beach area | Shade, picnic tables and restrooms at the pavilions. | | Start of Surfside | 25-30 minutes | A pleasant morning walk north. | | Bal Harbour Shops | 40-45 minutes | Walkable, but we'd ride it in the midday heat. | **North Beach Oceanside Park** is the long green stretch on Collins Avenue between 79th Street and 87th Terrace, about 28 acres with shaded paths, grills, picnic tables and beach access. It's where we send guests who want sand with a little shade nearby and a walk to get there. **Surfside** is the small town just north of us, its own municipality with its own quieter pace. Twenty-five to thirty minutes on foot puts you at its southern edge. Our Surfside guide covers what we'd do once you're there. **Bal Harbour Shops** is the one we're honest about. It's 40-45 minutes on foot from our gate. In the cooler months, or first thing in the morning, the walk is fine. At midday we'd book a rideshare and save your energy for the shops. ## The free trolley The Miami Beach Trolley is free, and the Collins Express is the line that serves North Beach. It runs from Washington Avenue and Lincoln Road in South Beach up to 88th Street, daily from 8am to 11pm, with a trolley about every 20 minutes. It stops near the Miami Beach Bandshell and North Beach Oceanside Park. For anything off Collins, you change. To reach the Miami Beach Botanical Garden, for example, take the Collins Express southbound and transfer to the Middle Beach Loop. Allow 45-60 minutes including the wait. By rideshare the same trip is 15-25 minutes. The trolley costs you time and nothing else, and on a slow day that's a fair trade. Ask us at the desk for the nearest stop. ## From the airports You can arrive without a car and leave without one. Miami International is about a 30-minute drive to our door. From Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International, plan on 35-45 minutes depending on traffic, and we usually suggest Uber or Lyft for that trip. Our front desk is staffed around the clock, so a late landing is no trouble on our end. ## A day that never needs a car The courtyard is where the day really begins. The Breakfast Table serves from 7am to 11am. The courtyard pool is open from sunrise to sunset, and the Gym & Sauna is here for the days you'd rather not go anywhere at all. You're welcome to bring your own drinks to the courtyard and pool; we only ask that you leave glass bottles and glasses inside. Add the beach, a walk to 71st Street, and one trolley ride if you feel like it, and you've had a full Miami Beach day without touching a car key. ## If you do bring a car You'll park in a public lot, not with us. We don't offer on-site parking or valet. The City of Miami Beach lot we point guests to is P92, at 299 72nd Street near Collins Avenue, about two blocks from the hotel. Rates are generally around $1 an hour, with a maximum stay of 10 consecutive hours, so check the posted signs for current rates and overnight rules when you arrive. We do have a pick-up and drop-off spot for loading bags. --- ## Choosing a Miami Beach Hotel: Which End of the Island to Stay On Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/blog/where-to-stay-miami-beach-neighborhoods > Picking a Miami Beach hotel is really picking a stretch of one long barrier island. South Beach, from roughly 5th to 23rd, holds the Art Deco blocks, Ocean Drive, Española Way and the Sunday farmers market on Lincoln Road between Meridian and Washington: it's the busiest end and the one most visitors mean when they say Miami Beach. Mid-Beach runs north from there along Collins. North Beach, where we are at 7418 Harding Avenue, sits in the seventies and eighties streets around the Miami Beach Bandshell at 7275 Collins. Surfside and then Bal Harbour follow, quieter again, with Bal Harbour Shops at the top. Same ocean the whole way. The difference is how loud the street is behind you. ## The choice is a neighbourhood, not a hotel Miami Beach is one long barrier island, and the only decision that really changes your week is which part of it you sleep on. The ocean is the same from end to end. What changes is the street behind your room, how far you have to go for dinner, and how early the noise stops. We're at 7418 Harding Avenue, at the north end, so you should read this knowing which end we live on. We'll still tell you plainly when another stretch suits you better. Sending someone to the wrong neighbourhood costs us more than losing the booking. ## South Beach: the Art Deco blocks, and the busiest end South Beach is the part most people picture, roughly 5th Street to 23rd. It holds the Art Deco buildings, Ocean Drive along the sand, and Española Way, the narrow pedestrian lane a few blocks inland. It's where the island is densest: the most restaurants per block, the most people on the pavement, the shortest walk between one thing and the next. The standing recommendation we give is the Lincoln Road Farmer's Market, which runs Sundays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. along Lincoln Road between Meridian and Washington: produce, cut flowers, a pleasant hour. Go in the morning. By midday the pedestrian mall is full. The Bass, the city's contemporary art museum at 2100 Collins Avenue, is the other reason we send guests south, and it runs free community days that are worth checking before you book a ticket. Stay in South Beach if you want to walk everywhere and don't mind the volume. Don't stay there if you sleep lightly. ## Mid-Beach: the stretch in between Mid-Beach is the run north of South Beach along Collins Avenue, the long hotel corridor between the Art Deco district and the seventies streets. It's quieter than South Beach and further from the restaurant blocks at either end. The honest summary: it suits people who want the beach and a pool and are happy to take a car to dinner. If you plan on walking to everything, it's the weakest of the five. ## North Beach, or NOBE: where we are North Beach starts around the sixties and runs up into the eighties. This is our stretch. It's residential, lower, older, and much quieter in the evening. The anchor is the Miami Beach Bandshell at 7275 Collins Avenue, an open-air venue a few blocks from our gate, which is the rare thing in Miami that you can walk to and walk home from. North Beach still has its soul. The restaurants and cafés cluster around 71st Street and the Normandy Fountain rather than along the beachfront, which is why the sand up here is emptier than the sand further south on the same afternoon. Our own house is a 1948 building with 29 rooms and suites across two floors, and Felix designed each room himself: every piece is custom, down to the teak deck pattern around the pool. The courtyard is where the day really begins, usually at 8 a.m. before the heat sets in. Stay here if you want to be able to hear the evening. Don't stay here if your plan is to roll out of bed into a crowd. ## Surfside: a small town with its own business district Surfside is the next town north, and it functions like a town rather than a strip. The business district on Harding Avenue around 94th to 96th carries the everyday business of eating: delis, bakeries, casual dinners, including the MICHELIN-recommended Josh's Deli. The Surfside Farmers Market runs at the 96th Street beach entrance October through May, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Because Harding Avenue is our street too, Surfside is a walk for us rather than a drive, which is part of why we chose this end. We've written a separate guide to what's worth the walk. ## Bal Harbour: the top of the island Bal Harbour sits at the northern tip, and the reason to be there is Bal Harbour Shops, the open-air luxury shopping centre that anchors the whole village. It is the most expensive stretch of the island and the least eventful on foot. Our view: Bal Harbour is better as somewhere you go to than somewhere you sleep, which is exactly how we use it. ## Side by side | Stretch | What the street is like | Stay here if | | --- | --- | --- | | South Beach | Densest, Art Deco blocks, Ocean Drive and Española Way | You want to walk to everything and don't mind noise | | Mid-Beach | Hotel corridor along Collins, little street life | Beach and pool are the plan and you'll drive to dinner | | North Beach (NOBE) | Residential, cafés around 71st Street, Bandshell on Collins | You want quiet evenings and emptier sand | | Surfside | Small-town business district on Harding Avenue | You want to eat well on foot without a scene | | Bal Harbour | Luxury shopping, little else at ground level | Shopping is the point of the trip | ## What we'd tell you at the desk If it's your first time on the island and you have three days, the gap between South Beach and the north end is smaller than it looks on a map: a short drive, or the beach walk itself. Pick the end that matches your evenings, then travel for your afternoons. Quiet luxury you feel rather than see is a thing you want at 10 p.m., not at noon. If you're booking with us, check-in is after 4:00 p.m. and check-out is 11:00 a.m., and someone is at the desk at any hour. Tell us your arrival time in advance and we'll do what we can for an early room. --- ## Things to Do in North Beach, Miami: Our Short List Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/guides/things-to-do-north-beach-miami > Things to do in North Beach, Miami come down to a handful of things done slowly: the sand and dune path at Miami Beach Oceanside Park, a few minutes' walk east of our gate on Harding Avenue; Bal Harbour Shops, two minutes away, worth the walk even if you buy nothing; Surfside's low-rise blocks just next door; and the Miami Beach Botanical Garden, the one stop we'd put you in a car for. This is the slower Miami. Most days here need no plan beyond breakfast and a direction. We're at 7418 Harding Avenue, at the north end of Miami Beach, in the stretch people here call North Beach or NOBE. It is the same island as South Beach and a completely different day. What follows is the short list we actually give guests at the desk, not everything within a ten-mile radius. Four places outside our gate, and one inside it. Three of the four you can reach on foot in sandals, which is the whole argument for this end of the beach: you stop planning and start walking. North Beach still has its soul. Low buildings, families on the sand, cafés that open onto the street rather than away from it. If you came to Miami for spectacle, this is the wrong postcode, and we'd rather tell you now than have you find out on day two. --- ## Things to Do in Surfside, Florida: What We Send Guests To Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/guides/things-to-do-surfside-florida > Surfside is a small beach town between us and Bal Harbour, and most of what you'd want sits on two streets. Harding Avenue between 94th and 96th is the everyday stretch: shops, delis and casual dinners, including the MICHELIN-recommended Josh's Deli. The Surfside Farmers Market sets up at the 96th Street beach entrance from October through May, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Ké, Mother Turtle sculpture stands at the 95th Street beach entrance. For a long dinner, the Surf Club Restaurant on Collins Avenue holds a MICHELIN star. We're on Harding Avenue ourselves, at 7418, so you reach all of it by walking north up our own street. Surfside is small on purpose. A few blocks of beach town sitting between us and Bal Harbour, with a business district you can cross in minutes and a beach entrance at nearly every street. Guests ask us what there is to do up there, and the honest answer is that Surfside isn't a list of attractions. It's a place to eat well, buy fruit, and walk back. We're at 7418 Harding Avenue, the same street Surfside's shops and restaurants sit on, so you get there by walking north and not turning. That's the whole set of directions. Below is what we actually recommend, with enough detail to decide whether it's worth the walk today. This is the slower Miami. Nobody up here is trying to impress you, and after a day or two that stops feeling like a lack and starts feeling like the point. If you'd rather not move at all, the courtyard pool is open sunrise to sunset and nobody will ask you where you're going. --- ## Golf Courses Near Miami Beach: Three Public Rounds From Our North End Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/guides/golf-courses-near-miami-beach > The golf courses near Miami Beach that take public tee times are Miami Beach Golf Club (2301 Alton Road, an Arthur Hills par 72 that opened in 1923), Normandy Shores Golf Club in Miami Beach (pro shop, practice facility, lessons and its own restaurant), and Miami Shores Country Club across the bay at 10000 Biscayne Blvd (a 1939 Red Lawrence par 71). We're at 7418 Harding Avenue in North Beach, and our front desk is staffed around the clock if you need help planning the morning. Three public courses are within reach of our door at 7418 Harding Avenue: Miami Beach Golf Club on Alton Road, Normandy Shores Golf Club, and Miami Shores Country Club on the mainland. All three take outside players, so you don't need a membership or a club connection to book a tee time. We don't have a course of our own. What we do have is the rest of the golf day. The courtyard is where the day really begins: an early coffee, then out for a morning tee time before the heat sets in. You come back to The Gym & Sauna for a stretch and a sauna, or to The Courtyard Pool, which is open from sunrise to sunset. Below is how we'd choose between the three. We've kept to what each club publishes itself: par, yardage, architect, the year it opened, and the number to call. Rates and tee times change through the season, so we'd always check with the club directly before you set out. ## Which course to book Book Miami Beach Golf Club if you want the longest, most demanding round. It plays to 6,813 yards from the black tees, with a course rating of 73.1 and a slope of 131. Book Normandy Shores if you want to warm up properly or take a lesson. It lists a pro shop, a practice facility and golf instruction, plus a restaurant on site for after the round. Book Miami Shores Country Club if you'd like an older layout and don't mind crossing the bay. It opened in 1939 and plays to 6,705 yards from the blue tees. ## At a glance | Course | Address | Par | Longest tees | Rating / slope | Opened | Phone | |---|---|---|---|---|---|---| | Miami Beach Golf Club | 2301 Alton Road, Miami Beach | 72 | 6,813 yds (black) | 73.1 / 131 | 1923 | 305-532-3350 | | Normandy Shores Golf Club | Miami Beach | See club scorecard | See club scorecard | See club scorecard | See club history page | 305-868-6502 | | Miami Shores Country Club | 10000 Biscayne Blvd, Miami Shores | 71 | 6,705 yds (blue) | 71.2 / 131 | 1939 | 305-795-2360 | ## Planning the golf day from North Beach Plan for an early start. Our front desk, The Desk That Never Sleeps, is staffed 24 hours, so a 6am departure is no trouble on our side. Breakfast is served at The Breakfast Table. We don't offer parking on site. If you're driving to the course, contact our Reservations Department before you arrive for current parking options and rates near the hotel. If you're flying in with clubs, Miami International Airport is about a 30-minute drive from us. After the round, the afternoon is yours. The gym has a Peloton bike if you want to spin the legs out, and the sauna is a short walk from your room. The pool stays quiet well into the evening. This is the slower Miami. --- ## Where to Eat in North Beach, Miami: Three Tables We Send Guests To Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/guides/where-to-eat-north-beach-miami > For where to eat in North Beach, Miami, we send guests to three places: Blozzom Pizza, directly across the street from us, for Roman-style pizza al taglio; Sushi Bichi at 7330 Ocean Terrace, a beachside sushi restaurant with an outdoor bar and a daily happy hour; and Silverlake Bistro at 1211 71st Street, Chef Benoit Rablat's French-inspired American bistro, open since 2018. We don't run a restaurant ourselves, so these are where our guests eat lunch and dinner. We don't run a restaurant. Mornings start at The Breakfast Table, and after that our guests eat out in the neighbourhood. That suits North Beach. The blocks around us on Harding Avenue, Collins Avenue and 71st Street are full of small, owner-run places, and we'd rather send you to one of them than try to compete. This is a short list on purpose. These are three places we recommend to guests at the desk, and each one does a different job: a quick lunch, a long evening by the water, a proper sit-down dinner. ## How we'd use this list Start close and work outwards. Blozzom Pizza is across the street, so it's the easy answer after a morning at the beach or when you don't want to plan anything. Sushi Bichi is on Ocean Terrace near 73rd Street, on the ocean side of Collins, which makes it the natural place for an early evening drink and dinner with the beach in view. Silverlake Bistro is further west on 71st Street, toward Normandy Isles, and it's the one we'd book for a night when you want to sit down for a couple of hours. ## Why North Beach eats differently North Beach still has its soul. It's a neighbourhood where people live year round, and the places that last here are the ones the neighbours keep going back to. You won't find a strip of host stands calling out to you. You'll find a pizza counter, a sushi bar by the sand and a chef who has been cooking on 71st Street since 2018. ## A few practical notes We don't have on-site parking, so if you're driving to dinner, the City of Miami Beach public lot P92 at 299 72nd Street, near Collins Avenue, is about two blocks from us. Hours and menus at all three restaurants change with the season, so check with each one before you go, or ask us at the desk and we'll do it for you. Let me make that happen for you is something we say often, and booking a table is a good example. --- ## Staying Near Bal Harbour Shops: What's Worth Your Time Up Here Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/guides/staying-near-bal-harbour-shops > Bal Harbour Shops sits at 9700 Collins Avenue, about twenty blocks north of our door at 7418 Harding Avenue, so you can shop in Bal Harbour and still sleep somewhere quiet. We're a 29-room house in North Beach with a courtyard pool and the Atlantic a short walk from the gate. Eat Italian at Carpaccio inside the Shops, sushi at Makoto, or go the other direction to Café Prima Pasta at 414 71st Street, which has been feeding this neighbourhood for over thirty years. This is the slower Miami. If you're shopping Bal Harbour, you don't have to sleep in the noise to do it. Bal Harbour Shops is at 9700 Collins Avenue, roughly twenty blocks north of our door at 7418 Harding Avenue, which is a few minutes by car and a long, flat walk if the morning is cool enough for it. We're a 29-room house in North Beach: two floors, a courtyard pool ringed in teak decking and native palms, and a garden that hides us from the street. Felix designed each room himself, and the art on the walls was commissioned from Mark Cherry. Quiet luxury you feel rather than see. What that means in practice is that you can spend an afternoon between the storefronts at 9700 Collins and be back in the water by five, with nobody playing music at you. The beach is a short walk from our gate, and we keep sunbeds and umbrellas waiting on the quieter sand. Someone of the house is awake whenever you are, so a late flight or an early shopping start is not a problem. North Beach still has its soul. It is residential in a way the south end of the island stopped being decades ago: low buildings, Cuban and Argentine kitchens, old Italian family restaurants, people walking dogs at seven in the morning. Harding Avenue runs us straight north into Surfside and then into Bal Harbour, so the three neighbourhoods read as one long street with different moods. Below are the four places we actually send guests to in this direction. We've left out anything we can't vouch for. If you want more than this, ask at the desk and we'll point you at the galleries and the smaller cafés on 71st Street; a list on a page is never as good as a recommendation made to your face. A note on timing. Bal Harbour Shops is an open-air, two-level centre, and the middle of a Miami afternoon in summer is the worst of it. Go in the morning, or go after four. The same is true of the beach, which is the other reason the courtyard is where the day really begins here. --- ## Boutique Hotel vs Airbnb in Miami Beach: What to Compare Before You Book Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/answers/boutique-hotel-vs-airbnb-miami-beach > Choosing between a boutique hotel and an Airbnb in Miami Beach comes down to who answers the door at 2am, what the final price includes, and which shared spaces you actually get. With us, someone is at the front desk at every hour, the courtyard pool and the Gym & Sauna are for guests only, and sunbeds and umbrellas wait on the beach. Our rates carry a 14% tax and a $50 resort fee. A vacation rental can make sense for a larger group or a long stay, but each listing sets its own rules, so check the fees, check-in method and amenities line by line before you book. --- ## North Beach vs South Beach, Miami: Which End to Stay On Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/answers/north-beach-vs-south-beach-miami > North Beach and South Beach sit on the same barrier island, about five miles apart, and they ask for different trips. South Beach is the dense, famous end: the Art Deco blocks, the crowds, the most to look at and the most to do within a few streets. North Beach, where we are on Harding Avenue, is low-rise and residential, with wider and emptier sand and a short walk to Bal Harbour Shops and Surfside. Choose South Beach if you want the spectacle on your doorstep. Choose North Beach if you want the beach early and the street quiet at night. Neither is wrong; they are just not interchangeable. --- ## Miami Beach Holiday Events, December 2026: The North Beach Calendar From Our Gate Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/events-near/miami-beach-holiday-events-december-2026 > The main Miami Beach holiday events in December 2026 on the north end of the island are at the Miami Beach Bandshell, 7275 Collins Avenue: a free Thanksgiving Roller Disco on Friday, November 27 at 5pm, Nicole Henry's 13th annual holiday concert on Wednesday, December 16 at 7:30pm, a free North Beach Social night with Mr. Pauer & Friends on Thursday, December 17 at 8pm, and the Run Santa Run Miami race on Sunday, December 20 at 7am. We're at 7418 Harding Avenue, a couple of blocks away, so each one is a walk from our gate. Most of the holiday calendar on our end of Miami Beach runs through one place this year: the Miami Beach Bandshell at 7275 Collins Avenue. We're at 7418 Harding Avenue, a couple of blocks away, so everything below is a walk from our gate rather than a taxi down the causeway. Here is what's on between Thanksgiving weekend and the week before Christmas, what each evening is like, and how we'd build a stay around it. ## The dates at a glance Four holiday-season nights and mornings at the Bandshell are worth planning around. Two are free with an RSVP, two are ticketed. | Date | Event | Time | Entry | |---|---|---|---| | Fri, Nov 27 | Thanksgiving Roller Disco | 5pm | Free, RSVP | | Wed, Dec 16 | Nicole Henry holiday concert | 7:30pm | Ticketed | | Thu, Dec 17 | Mr. Pauer & Friends at North Beach Social | 8pm | Free, RSVP | | Sun, Dec 20 | Run Santa Run Miami (5K, 10K, half marathon) | 7am | Ticketed | Dates and times are as the Bandshell lists them in October. Check its calendar the week you travel, because shows do move. ## Thanksgiving Roller Disco: Friday, November 27 This is the free one to open a long weekend with. The Bandshell bills it as a roller disco night with free admission and disco on the speakers, starting at 5pm. Arrive on Thursday or Friday, take the afternoon at the pool, and walk over as the light goes. It's the least formal night on this list, and the one most likely to have the whole neighbourhood out. ## Nicole Henry's holiday concert: Wednesday, December 16 If you book one ticket this month, we'd make it this one. Nicole Henry is a Miami jazz and soul singer, and this is her 13th annual holiday concert, a fundraiser for Miami Music Project and SAVE. It starts at 7:30pm. It suits a midweek stay: a quiet day at the house, an early dinner out, and a seated evening of music a few minutes from your room. ## North Beach Social with Mr. Pauer & Friends: Thursday, December 17 North Beach Social is the Bandshell's free monthly music night for the community, and December's edition is a holiday set from Mr. Pauer, whom the Bandshell calls an Electrópico pioneer. It starts at 8pm and you RSVP rather than buy a ticket. Put it the night after Nicole Henry and you have two very different evenings, one seated and one on your feet, without ever leaving North Beach. ## Run Santa Run Miami: Sunday, December 20 The race starts at 7am at the Bandshell, with 5K, 10K and half marathon distances, Santa suits encouraged, and proceeds going to Clean Miami Beach. If you're running, staying this close means you can walk to the start instead of driving to it. Someone of the house is at our desk at every hour, so a 6am departure is no trouble. Afterwards, the courtyard is the place to sit down. ## New Year's Eve, a week later The Bandshell's year ends with Lettuce, playing two nights of funk on December 31 and January 1. We've written that one up separately, with how to plan the night on foot. See our New Year's Eve page linked below. ## The days in between December is when our courtyard is at its best. The pool is open from sunrise to sunset, and it's for our guests only, so the morning swim is usually yours. The Breakfast Table is laid out each morning: croissants in wicker baskets, fruit on woven tiers, cold-pressed juices on ice, Greek yogurt and fresh coffee, which you can carry out to the courtyard. The courtyard is where the day really begins. The Atlantic is a few minutes' walk east of the gate, along Miami Beach Oceanside Park, and we have sunbeds and umbrellas waiting there. For an afternoon of wandering, Bal Harbour Shops and Surfside are both just north of us. Our guides to each are linked below. ## Where you'll be sleeping We're a 1948 building with 29 rooms and suites across two floors. Felix designed each room himself, so every piece of furniture is custom, and the walls carry pieces commissioned from Mark Cherry. The upper floor is reached by stairs only, so tell us if you'd rather be on the ground floor. This is the slower Miami, and in December that's most of the appeal. --- ## Black Friday Hotel Deals in Miami Beach, 2026: 35% Off Our North Beach Rooms Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/events-near/black-friday-hotel-deals-miami-beach-2026 > Our Black Friday hotel deal in Miami Beach for 2026 is 35% off our non-refundable rate with the code BLACKOFFER, for stays of three nights or more. The code is open for bookings from November 10 to December 3, 2026, and covers check-in dates from November 10, 2026 to December 19, 2027, with some dates held back, including Christmas to New Year. We're a 29-room house at 7418 Harding Avenue in North Beach, a few minutes' walk from the sand. ## Our Black Friday offer, in short Our Black Friday offer takes 35% off our non-refundable rate when you enter the code **BLACKOFFER** on our website. It needs a stay of three nights or more, and the code is open for bookings from November 10 to December 3, 2026. It isn't applied for you, so type the code in when you book. It also can't be combined with another offer. That's the whole of it. No package to unpick, no add-ons you didn't ask for. ## Which nights the code covers The code works for check-in dates from November 10, 2026 to December 19, 2027. Some dates are held back: - **Early December 2026**: a few nights at the start of the month. - **Christmas to New Year**: December 26, 2026 to January 3, 2027. - **Spring 2027**: April 30 to May 2, 2027. - **Late 2027**: November 29 to December 5, 2027. If a night you want doesn't take the code, it's one of those. Thanksgiving falls on Thursday, November 26, 2026, and Black Friday on the 27th. Neither is held back, so a Thursday to Sunday stay over the long weekend qualifies. ## Which rooms and suites it covers The code applies to six of our room types. Felix designed each room himself, and every piece in them is custom. | Room | Size | Beds | Who it suits | |---|---|---|---| | Nest Room | 248 sq ft | One king | Two people who want garden views and quiet | | Elegance Room | 270 sq ft | One king | Two people, views toward the garden or pool | | Elegance Suite (Accessible) | 270 sq ft | One king | Two people who need a walk-in shower | | Junior Suite | 420 sq ft | King plus sofa bed | A couple who want more room to spread out | | Atelier Suite | 510 sq ft | King, separate living room | A longer stay, with pool views | | Grand Luxe Suite | 610 sq ft | King plus sofa bed | Our largest room; a third guest fits on the sofa bed | Our Signature Rooms aren't part of this offer. Every room has one main bed; if two of you want to sleep apart, the Junior Suite, Atelier Suite and Grand Luxe Suite each have a sofa bed as well. ## What the price includes, and what it doesn't The 35% comes off the room rate. Taxes (14%) and the $50 resort fee are added on top, as they are on every booking with us. The rate is non-refundable, so once it's booked it can't be cancelled for a refund. Book it when your dates are settled. ## Thanksgiving week at our end of the island This is the slower Miami. We're a 29-room house in a 1948 building at 7418 Harding Avenue, in North Beach. The Atlantic is a few minutes' walk from our gate, and sunbeds and umbrellas wait for you on the sand. The courtyard is where the day really begins. The Courtyard Pool opens at sunrise and closes at sunset, and 8am is the hour to take it, before the day warms up. Breakfast is laid out at The Breakfast Table from 7 to 11am. The Gym & Sauna is there for a morning on the weights and a long sit in the infrared sauna afterwards. Someone of the house is at The Desk That Never Sleeps at any hour, so a late arrival on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving is no trouble. ## If Black Friday means shopping **Bal Harbour Shops** is the open-air shopping center north of us, and it's where we send guests who want a day among the boutiques. On foot it's about 40-45 minutes from our gate, a long walk up the coast; most people take a car and save their legs for the shops. Check the center's own holiday hours before you go. **Surfside** begins about 25-30 minutes' walk north of us. It's a separate small town, not part of Miami Beach, and we've written up what we send guests to there on our Surfside page. **North Beach Oceanside Park** is about 15-20 minutes on foot. It makes a good destination for a Thanksgiving morning walk before the table, with the beach area within the park at the end of it. ## Getting here Miami International Airport is about 30 minutes away by car. We don't have parking or valet on site. The City of Miami Beach public lot (P92) is at 299 72nd Street near Collins Avenue, about two blocks from us, at around $1 an hour with a 10-hour limit. Check the posted rules when you arrive, since rates and overnight conditions can change. If you'd like a hand with the dates or the room, write to us before you book. Let me make that happen for you. --- ## Valentine's Day Weekend in Miami Beach, 2027: Ibeyi at the Bandshell and a Quiet North End Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/events-near/valentines-weekend-miami-beach-2027 > Valentine's Day weekend in Miami Beach falls on Friday, February 12 to Monday, February 15, 2027, and Monday is Presidents' Day, so many couples get three nights. On our end of the island the anchor is Ibeyi, the French-Cuban twins, playing the Miami Beach Bandshell at 7275 Collins Avenue on Sunday, February 14 at 8pm. We're at 7418 Harding Avenue, a couple of blocks away: a 12-and-over house of 29 rooms, a courtyard pool open sunrise to sunset, and the Atlantic a few minutes' walk east. Valentine's Day 2027 lands on a Sunday, and the Monday after it, February 15, is Presidents' Day. That makes it a three-night weekend for a lot of couples, from Friday the 12th to Monday the 15th. On our end of Miami Beach, the evening to build it around is Ibeyi at the Miami Beach Bandshell on Sunday the 14th at 8pm. Here is how we'd spend the weekend from our gate on Harding Avenue. ## The weekend at a glance The plan is simple: arrive Friday, keep Saturday slow, go to the show Sunday, leave Monday. | Day | What we'd do | Detail | |---|---|---| | Fri, Feb 12 | Arrive and settle in | Check-in after 4pm | | Sat, Feb 13 | Pool, beach, a walk north | Pool open sunrise to sunset | | Sun, Feb 14 | Ibeyi at the Bandshell | 8pm, 7275 Collins Avenue | | Mon, Feb 15 | Presidents' Day, a late breakfast | Check-out 11am | ## Friday: arrive after four Check-in is after 4pm. If your flight lands early, tell us your arrival time in advance and we'll do what we can with the room, depending on availability. Someone of the house is at our desk at every hour, so a late arrival from Miami International or Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood is no trouble either. On the first evening, do very little. The pool stays quiet into the evening, and that's usually enough. ## Saturday: keep it slow Start in the courtyard. The Breakfast Table is laid out each morning: croissants and pastries in wicker baskets, fruit on woven tiers, cold-pressed juices on ice, Greek yogurt and fresh coffee. Fill a plate and take it out by the pool, which opens at sunrise and is reserved for our guests. By late morning, walk east. The Atlantic is a few minutes from the gate, along Miami Beach Oceanside Park, and we have sunbeds and umbrellas waiting there. It's a wide stretch of sand, and it doesn't draw the crowds of the south end. In the afternoon, walk north. Bal Harbour Shops and Surfside both sit just beside our neighbourhood, and we've written guides to each, linked below. Then come back, rest, and go out for dinner. We don't run a restaurant, so dinner is always somewhere in the neighbourhood. Ask at the desk and we'll point you to a table. ## Sunday: Ibeyi at the Bandshell Ibeyi is the evening to plan the whole weekend around. The French-Cuban twins return to the Bandshell on Sunday, February 14 at 8pm, touring their new album, Offering. The Bandshell is an open-air venue at 7275 Collins Avenue, run by the Rhythm Foundation for the City of Miami Beach, and it's a couple of blocks from us, so the walk there and back is part of the evening. Buy tickets through the Bandshell directly, and check its calendar the week you travel in case anything moves. If you're staying on, the Australian band Vacations plays the same stage on Wednesday, February 17 at 7:30pm. ## Monday: Presidents' Day No rush on the last morning. Take breakfast out to the courtyard again, swim once more, and check out by 11am. The courtyard is especially peaceful in the morning, and on a holiday Monday more so. ## Why a quieter house suits this weekend We're a 1948 building with 29 rooms and suites, and we take guests aged 12 and over, so the house stays calm. Felix designed each room himself and every piece is custom. The walls carry pieces commissioned from Mark Cherry, and the teak underfoot is laid in a yacht deck pattern. Rooms are on two floors, and the upper one is reached by stairs only, so say so when you book if you'd prefer the ground floor. This is the slower Miami. ## Before you book Rates are in US dollars, with a 14% tax and a $50 resort fee added to the nightly rate. Our cancellation policy is strict and depends on the rate you choose, so read the terms before you confirm a holiday weekend. We accept major credit cards and don't take cash. --- ## Where to Stay for Art Basel Miami Beach 2026: The Quiet North End Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/events-near/where-to-stay-art-basel-miami-beach-2026 > Art Basel Miami Beach 2026 runs at the Miami Beach Convention Center with VIP preview days from Wednesday, December 2 and public days Friday, December 4 to Sunday, December 6, inside a wider Miami Art Week from November 30 to December 6. If you want to stay for the fair without sleeping beside it, we'd suggest the north end of the island. We're at 7418 Harding Avenue in North Beach: a 1948 building, 29 rooms around a courtyard pool, a front desk staffed at every hour, and Miami Beach's free trolley serving the neighborhood. Art Basel Miami Beach 2026 opens with VIP preview days from Wednesday, December 2, and the public days run Friday, December 4 to Sunday, December 6, at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Around it, Miami Art Week runs from Monday, November 30 to Sunday, December 6. If you're coming for the fair and would rather not sleep next door to it, we'd point you to the north end of the island. That's where we are: 7418 Harding Avenue, North Beach, a 1948 building with 29 rooms set around a courtyard pool. ## The fair: dates and venue The public days are December 4, 5 and 6, 2026. VIP preview days begin on December 2, and access to those is by invitation from the fair. Everything takes place at the Miami Beach Convention Center, down at the south end of the island. Ticket types and the opening hours for each day are set by Art Basel, not by us, so check artbasel.com before you plan a day around a particular hall. Miami Art Week, from November 30 to December 6, gathers the satellite fairs and gallery programs that run alongside Art Basel across the city. Many of our guests arrive at the start of that week and treat the main fair as the last stop rather than the first. ## Why we suggest the north end for Art Week The fair is at one end of the island and we're at the other. That's the whole idea for most people who book with us that week. You go down for the halls in the afternoon, and you come back up to a courtyard where the loudest thing is the pool filter. This is the slower Miami. The house fits the week, too. Felix designed each room himself, and every piece of furniture is custom. Mark Cherry's commissioned pieces hang on our walls, and the teak yacht deck pattern runs underfoot. After a day of looking at art, it's a good place to stop looking. ## Getting to the Convention Center from North Beach Miami Beach runs a free trolley, and its Collins Express line serves North Beach. The city has been reviewing its North Beach trolley routes, so look at the current map on the City of Miami Beach website before you rely on a particular stop. A car down Collins Avenue is the other option, and our desk can call one for you at any hour. If you're flying in for the fair, Miami International Airport is about a 30-minute drive from us. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International is the other airport we see guests use. Our page on getting from Miami's airport to the beach has the details. ## How we'd shape an Art Basel day **Morning, at the house.** The courtyard is where the day really begins. The Courtyard Pool opens at sunrise, and around 8am, before the heat sets in, you'll usually have the water to yourself. The Breakfast Table is laid out under the lamps with warm croissants, fruit on woven tiers, cold-pressed juices on ice and yogurt. **Before you go.** The Gym & Sauna is a quiet room of warm walls and linen curtains, with weights, a treadmill and an infrared sauna. It's reserved for guests, as is the pool. **Afternoon, at the fair.** Head south once you've had the morning. If you've come for a specific gallery's booth, check the fair's floor plan the night before. **Late afternoon, the sea.** The beach is a short walk from our gate, and we keep sunbeds and umbrellas waiting on Miami Beach's quieter sand. The pool closes at sunset, so if you want a last swim at the house, plan your trip back with that in mind. **Night.** Our front desk never closes. Whatever time you get back from a late opening, someone of the house is awake for keys, directions or a quiet fix. ## Which room for Art Week For two people on a short trip, the Signature Room has a king bed and a Juliet balcony over the pool. If you're staying the whole week, or you'd like somewhere to sit and talk through the day's finds, the Atelier Suite and the Grand Luxe Suite both have a separate bedroom and living room. The Grand Luxe is our largest, with a sofa bed for a third person. The accessible Elegance Suite has a king bed, open floor space and an accessible walk-in shower. We have two floors. The upper level is reached by stairs only, so tell us when you book if you'd prefer the ground floor. ## Booking for Art Week: know before you go Check-in is after 4pm and check-out is at 11am. Arriving early on the morning of a preview day? Tell us your arrival time in advance and we'll do what we can, depending on availability. Rates are in U.S. dollars and are subject to 14% tax and a $50 resort fee on top of the nightly rate. We're a small, privately owned house and our cancellation policy is strict, with penalties that depend on the rate you choose, so read the terms of your rate before you confirm. We welcome guests aged 12 and over. Pets stay at home, though certified support animals are welcome. We're a cash-free hotel: major credit cards only. --- ## New Year's Eve in Miami Beach 2026: A North Beach Night With Lettuce at the Bandshell Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/events-near/new-years-eve-north-beach-miami-beach-2026 > For New Year's Eve in Miami Beach in 2026, the North Beach plan is simple: funk band Lettuce plays the Miami Beach Bandshell at 7275 Collins Avenue on Thursday, December 31 at 8:30 PM, with a second show on Friday, January 1 at 7:30 PM. The venue is open-air and shows run rain or shine. We're at 7418 Harding Avenue, a couple of blocks away, with a front desk staffed 24 hours, so you can walk to midnight and walk home. ## The short answer Our pick for New Year's Eve 2026 is Lettuce at the Miami Beach Bandshell. The funk band is playing two nights on its Cook Tour: Thursday, December 31 at 8:30 PM, and Friday, January 1 at 7:30 PM. The Bandshell is at 7275 Collins Avenue, at 73rd Street. We're at 7418 Harding Avenue, a couple of blocks north and one street west, so midnight is a walk away and so is bed. We're not a party house, and we won't pretend otherwise. What we can offer is a New Year's that doesn't involve a taxi queue: a good band, an open-air room by the ocean side of Collins, and a quiet courtyard to come back to. This is the slower Miami, and it holds up well on the busiest night of the year. ## About the shows Lettuce is a funk band, and the Bandshell bills this as a two-night run to ring in the new year. Tickets are sold through the venue. A few things from the Bandshell's own FAQ are worth knowing before you buy: - **Rain**: the venue is open-air under a canopy. Shows go on rain or shine, and rain isn't grounds for a refund. - **Refunds**: tickets aren't refundable once bought. If the venue cancels or postpones, it handles refunds directly. - **Bags**: personal-item size only. No backpacks. - **Drinks**: there's a full bar and light bites inside. No outside food or drink. There's a free water refill station. - **Seating**: if the show is set up for standing and dancing, there are a limited number of chairs. Ask at the check-in table if you need one. - **Club Boxes**: 10 cabanas on a raised riser along the back wall, each ticket covering six admissions. For a group of six, that's the way to have a base for the night. If you're choosing between the two nights, the January 1 show starts an hour earlier and makes a gentle first evening of the year. The December 31 show is the one that carries you through midnight. ## December, if you arrive early The Bandshell's calendar fills up in the two weeks before New Year's. These are the nights we'd plan around: | Date | What | Time | Notes | |---|---|---|---| | Wed Dec 16 | Nicole Henry holiday concert | 7:30 PM | Her 13th annual fundraising holiday concert, supporting Miami Music Project and SAVE | | Thu Dec 17 | North Beach Social: Mr. Pauer & Friends | 8:00 PM | Free with RSVP, the Bandshell's monthly community music night | | Sun Dec 20 | Run Santa Run Miami | 7:00 AM | 5K, 10K and half marathon; proceeds benefit Clean Miami Beach | | Thu Dec 31 | Lettuce | 8:30 PM | New Year's Eve | | Fri Jan 1 | Lettuce | 7:30 PM | Second night | Nicole Henry is Miami's own jazz and soul singer, and a holiday concert in an open-air shell in December is about as local as an evening here gets. Mr. Pauer's North Beach Social night costs nothing but an RSVP. Run Santa Run starts at 7:00 AM, which means an early night before it and a long breakfast after. Calendars change. Check the Bandshell's events page before you book travel around a specific date. ## Getting there and back Walk. From our gate, head down to 73rd Street and across to Collins. If you're driving in for the night instead, North Beach parking is $2 an hour after 6pm, and the Bandshell recommends the municipal lot across the street at 73rd and Collins, the lot at 75th Street and Ocean Terrace, and the Deauville lot at 260 72nd Street. Expect those to fill on New Year's Eve. Coming home at 1am is not a problem here. The Desk That Never Sleeps is staffed around the clock: keys, luggage, directions and quiet fixes at any hour. ## New Year's Day, slowly The courtyard is where the day really begins, and January 1 is the morning it earns that. The Breakfast Table is laid with warm croissants, fruit, cold-pressed juices and yogurt. The Courtyard Pool opens at sunrise and stays open until sunset. There's the infrared sauna in The Gym & Sauna, and the beach a short walk east, with sunbeds and umbrellas waiting for you. Check-out is at 11:00 am. If you're catching the January 1 show as well, that's one more night to book. ## Booking for New Year's We have 29 rooms, so the week between Christmas and New Year's goes early. A few things to know before you book: - **Check-in and check-out**: check-in from 4:00 pm, check-out at 11:00 am. Arriving earlier? Tell us your arrival time in advance and we'll do what we can, depending on availability. - **Taxes and fees**: rates are in U.S. dollars and carry a 14% tax and a $50 resort fee on top of the nightly rate. - **Cancellation**: we're small and privately owned, and our cancellation policy is strict. The penalty depends on the rate you choose, so read it at booking. - **Age**: we welcome guests aged 12 and over. - **Payment**: we're cash-free. Major credit cards only. Everything here carries Felix's personal touch, from the commissioned art on the walls to the teak yacht-deck pattern underfoot. It's a calm place to start a year. --- ## 48 Hours in North Beach, Miami: A Weekend That Doesn't Rush Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/itineraries/48-hours-north-beach-miami > Two days in North Beach, Miami works best if you keep it tight: the Atlantic in the morning, Bal Harbour Shops or the 71st Street fountain district in the afternoon, and the courtyard in between. We're at 7418 Harding Avenue, one block back from Collins, with a pool open sunrise to sunset and sunbeds waiting on the quieter sand. Day one stays within a walk of the gate. Day two goes north into Surfside and west across Collins. Check-out is 11:00am, so the last morning is still yours. North Beach rewards a short list. It isn't a neighbourhood you conquer in two days; it's one you settle into, which is the point of coming up here instead of staying south. This is how we'd spend a weekend from our gate at 7418 Harding Avenue, one block back from Collins. Day one stays within a walk. Day two goes north into Surfside and west across Collins to the fountain district on 71st Street. Both days leave room for the courtyard, because that's where the hours actually go. This is the slower Miami. --- ## Fort Lauderdale Airport to Miami Beach: About 35-45 Minutes to Our Door in North Beach Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/answers/fort-lauderdale-airport-to-miami-beach > From Fort Lauderdale airport to Miami Beach, the drive from FLL to our door at 7418 Harding Avenue in North Beach usually takes about 35-45 minutes, depending on traffic. We suggest an Uber or Lyft as the easiest way to make the trip, and taxis are also available at the airport. Because we sit at the north end of Miami Beach, FLL is a practical alternative to Miami International. We're in North Beach, at the north end of Miami Beach, which puts us within reach of both airports. From FLL, plan on 35-45 minutes by car. Traffic decides which end of that range you get. ## How we suggest you make the trip Take an Uber or Lyft. It's the simplest way to get from the terminal to our door, and it's what we tell guests at the desk. Taxis are also available at the airport if you'd rather not use an app. Give the driver our address: 7418 Harding Avenue, Miami Beach, FL 33141. ## When you get here We have a designated pick-up and drop-off spot, and our front desk is staffed 24 hours, so a late flight is no trouble. Check-in is from 4:00 pm. If you land early, tell us your arrival time in advance and we'll do what we can depending on availability. We don't offer on-site parking, so if you rent a car, the public lot P92 at 299 72nd Street is about two blocks away. ## FLL or Miami International Both work for us. We have a separate page on the trip from Miami International (MIA) if that's the airport you're flying into. --- ## North Shore Open Space Park, Miami Beach: What It Is and How We Use It Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/answers/north-shore-open-space-park-miami-beach > North Shore Open Space Park is an oceanfront park of about 36 acres on Collins Avenue between 79th and 87th Streets in North Beach, Miami Beach. The city's parks directory now lists it as North Beach Oceanside Park. It's open daily from sunrise to sunset, with pavilions and grills, restrooms and showers, a playground, outdoor fitness stations, enclosed dog areas and a beachwalk along the sand. We're just south of it, on the 7400 block of Harding Avenue. ## What the park is It's the long strip of green between Collins Avenue and the ocean, from 79th Street up to 87th Street. North Beach News puts it at about 36 acres, planted with native vegetation, coastal hammock and dunes. Older maps and most review sites still call it North Shore Open Space Park. The City of Miami Beach parks directory lists it as North Beach Oceanside Park, and in our own house we simply call it Oceanside Park. ## Where it sits from us The park's south edge is at 79th Street and Collins Avenue. We're at 7418 Harding Avenue, on the 7400 block, so it's a short walk north of our gate rather than a drive. North Beach News notes there is street parking along Harding Avenue and a municipal lot across Collins on 83rd Street, if friends are meeting you there by car. ## What you'll find inside - **Hours**: daily, sunrise to sunset, per the city's parks directory. - **Pavilions**: several, with barbecue grills and picnic tables. Miami and the Beaches, the county's visitor bureau, notes each pavilion has a grill, electricity and a restroom. - **Restrooms and showers**: at the pavilions. - **Exercise**: a series of outdoor fitness stations along the paths. - **Dogs**: enclosed dog areas, one for small dogs and one for large, plus the dog-friendly stretch known as Bark Beach. - **The beachwalk**: it runs along the park's ocean side and continues south for more than a mile to Allison Park. ## How we'd spend a morning there Go through the park rather than around it. The paths under the hammock trees lead straight onto the sand, and the beach on the far side is open and unhurried, the kind of place for a long read. North Beach News recommends the same route. The park and our Courtyard Pool keep the same hours, sunrise to sunset. The courtyard is where the day really begins: a swim or a session in The Gym & Sauna, breakfast at The Breakfast Table, then the walk north before the midday heat. If you'd rather not carry anything, our own sunbeds and umbrellas wait on the sand a short walk from the gate. The details are on our beach service page. A note for dog owners: the park welcomes dogs, but we don't take pets in the house. Certified support animals are welcome. --- ## Miami Beach Botanical Garden: Free Entry, Hours and How We Fit It Into a Stay Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/answers/miami-beach-botanical-garden > The Miami Beach Botanical Garden is a free, 2.6-acre public garden at 2000 Convention Center Drive, across from the Miami Beach Convention Center, open Tuesday to Sunday from 9am to 5pm. It has a Japanese garden with a red lacquered bridge over a lily pond, native Florida plantings and a small mangrove wetland. From our house on Harding Avenue in North Beach it's a ride south, and we'd go in the morning. ## What the garden is The Miami Beach Botanical Garden is a 2.6-acre public garden owned by the City of Miami Beach, open since 1962. It's one of the places we keep on our own short list for guests who want green rather than sand. In 2011 the landscape architect Raymond Jungles reworked it around native Florida plants: palms, cycads, bromeliads and orchids. The part we'd head for first is the Japanese garden. A red lacquered bridge crosses a quiet pond with water lilies, and stone lanterns stand among the plantings. Beyond it there's a native garden and a run of water gardens, including a small wetland with mangrove and pond apple trees. The ground has a past. It was a golf course once, and the garden sits on the old Collins Canal, which John S. Collins dug in the early 1900s to move mangoes and avocados by boat. It's a small detail, and the kind we like. ## Hours and admission Entry is free. The garden is open Tuesday through Sunday, 9am to 5pm, so Monday is the day to plan around. Hours shift for private events and upkeep, and we'd check mbgarden.org the morning you go. ## How we'd fit it into a stay with us The garden is at the south end of the island, across from the Miami Beach Convention Center. We're up at 7418 Harding Avenue in North Beach, so it's a ride down rather than a walk. Our front desk is staffed around the clock, and we're glad to help you sort the trip. We'd go at opening, while the paths are still cool. It's a small garden, and an unhurried hour covers it. Then come back north for the afternoon: The Courtyard Pool is open sunrise to sunset, and the sand is a few minutes from our gate. This is the slower Miami. --- ## 71st Street, Miami Beach: North Beach's Main Street, a Few Blocks From Our Gate Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/answers/71st-street-miami-beach > 71st Street is the main street of North Beach in Miami Beach. It runs west from Collins Avenue through the North Beach town center and over the bridge to Normandy Isles, where it becomes Normandy Drive and leads to the Normandy Fountain plaza at 7802 Rue Vendome, built in the 1920s. We're on Harding Avenue a few blocks north, so 71st Street is our everyday walk for food, the fountain and the neighborhood's slower pace. ## Where 71st Street runs 71st Street is the east-west spine of North Beach. On the east it meets Collins Avenue near the ocean. Heading west it passes through the North Beach town center, crosses the water to Normandy Isles and continues as Normandy Drive into the neighborhood around the fountain. We're at 7418 Harding Avenue, a few blocks north, so most of our walks into the neighborhood start by turning south toward it. ## What we send you to **Blozzom Pizza**: before you even reach 71st Street, this is directly across the street from us. It's a small Italian place doing Roman-style pizza al taglio, sold by the slice, with a light, crisp dough, plus pasta, salads and sandwiches. We point people here for a casual lunch or something quick after the beach. **The Normandy Fountain**: follow 71st Street west over the bridge and it becomes Normandy Drive, which brings you to the fountain plaza at 7802 Rue Vendome on Normandy Isles. The fountain was built in the 1920s, when it sat close to the water's edge, and the Normandy Fountain Business Association now runs markets and evening music on the plaza. Go in the evening, when the cafés around it fill up. This is where North Beach still has its soul. **The Byron Carlyle Theatre**: this is the closed theater in the North Beach town center, and there's nothing to see inside yet. The city's plans would redevelop it with a movie theater, a black box stage and arts studios, and the City Commission took up its renovation in March 2026. We mention it so you know what the shuttered building is when you walk past. ## Parking near 71st Street We don't have on-site or valet parking. When you're driving, use the City of Miami Beach public lot P92 at 299 72nd Street, one block north of 71st Street. We've written up how we use it on our North Beach parking page. ## How far things are from our gate | From 7418 Harding Avenue | On foot | |---|---| | The sand | A few minutes | | North Beach Oceanside Park (beach area) | About 15-20 minutes | | Start of Surfside | About 25-30 minutes | | Bal Harbour Shops | About 40-45 minutes | North Beach Oceanside Park runs from 79th to 86th Street along Collins Avenue and is open sunrise to sunset. For Bal Harbour Shops, most people take a car rather than the full walk. --- ## Where to Find a Quiet Beach in Miami Beach: Our Stretch of Sand in North Beach Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/answers/quiet-beach-miami-beach > For a quiet beach in Miami Beach, go north. The sand along Miami Beach Oceanside Park in North Beach is a wide, unhurried stretch, and it's a few minutes' walk east of our gate at 7418 Harding Avenue. When you stay with us, sunbeds and umbrellas are included, with no reservation needed. Bal Harbour and Surfside sit just next door for the afternoon. ## Go to the north end of the island The quieter sand is at the north end. We're at 7418 Harding Avenue in North Beach, and out the gate toward the ocean the Atlantic opens along Miami Beach Oceanside Park. It's the beach we send our own guests to, and it's a few minutes on foot. This is the slower Miami. ## What we set up for you on the sand If you're staying with us, sunbeds and umbrellas are part of your stay. There's no reservation and no extra charge. Bring a book and almost nothing else. We are not on the sand ourselves, and that short walk is deliberate: the street noise stays on one side, the courtyard stays on the other. ## How we'd spend a beach day here Start early. Our courtyard pool opens at sunrise, so a swim at 8am before the heat sets in, then breakfast at The Breakfast Table, then the beach while the sand is still cool. On the walk back you pass open-air cafés and small galleries. If the afternoon turns to wandering, Bal Harbour Shops and Surfside sit just next door to the neighborhood. The pool stays open until sunset for a last swim. ## A few things to know We welcome guests aged 12 and up. The pool and The Gym & Sauna are reserved for people staying with us; we don't sell day passes. Someone at The Desk That Never Sleeps is awake at any hour if you need directions to the sand or a towel at 6am. --- ## Miami Airport to Miami Beach: How Long It Takes and How to Get Here Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/answers/miami-airport-to-miami-beach > Miami International Airport to Miami Beach is about a 30-minute drive in normal traffic. We're at 7418 Harding Avenue, at the north end of the island, and we recommend a trusted car service or a rideshare from the terminal rather than public transport, since there's no direct rail link to the beach. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International is the other airport our guests use, and it's the longer drive of the two. Tell us your arrival time and we'll have someone expecting you. Our desk is staffed around the clock, so a late landing is never a problem. About 30 minutes, traffic allowing. That's the drive from Miami International Airport east to us at 7418 Harding Avenue, at the north end of Miami Beach. Early evening and the morning rush will add to it, so give yourself room if you have a dinner booked. For the transfer itself we recommend a trusted car service or a rideshare from the terminal. There's no direct rail line onto the beach, so anything other than a car means changes with luggage, which is rarely worth it after a flight. If you'd prefer us to arrange a car rather than sorting it at arrivals, tell us your flight and we'll make that happen for you. The other airport our guests use is Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International. It's the longer drive of the two, so weigh the fare difference against the extra time in the car before you book the cheaper flight. Two practical things on arrival. Check-in is after 4:00 pm, and if you land earlier we'll make every effort to get you in sooner based on availability, so let us know your arrival time in advance. And if you land late, it doesn't matter: someone of the house is awake whenever you are. Bring a valid government-issued ID, which we scan at check-in. --- ## Getting to Haulover Beach From Miami Beach: The Drive North on Collins Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/answers/haulover-beach-from-miami-beach > To reach Haulover Beach from Miami Beach, go north on Collins Avenue through Surfside and Bal Harbour and cross Baker's Haulover Inlet. Haulover Park sits on the strip of land between the Atlantic and Biscayne Bay, just north of the Broad Causeway. It's a Miami-Dade County park with 1.5 miles of shoreline. The northern 0.4 miles is an officially recognized clothing-optional beach, so if that isn't what you came for, stay toward the southern end. From us on Harding Avenue in North Beach, Haulover is a straight run north. Collins Avenue carries you through Surfside and then Bal Harbour. The bridge over Baker's Haulover Inlet marks the end of Bal Harbour, and the park starts on the other side. ## What Haulover Park is Haulover Park belongs to Miami-Dade County and is run by its Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department. It sits on a strip of land between the Atlantic and Biscayne Bay, with 1.5 miles of shoreline. The county opened it to the public in late 1948, the same year our building went up. It isn't only a beach. There's a marina, tennis courts and an enclosed dog park, with picnic areas at the southern end. Lifeguards, chair and umbrella rentals, and concession stands are spread along the sand. ## Know which end you're on The northern 0.4 miles of the beach is clothing-optional. Miami-Dade County officially recognizes it, and permanent signs have marked it since December 1993. That stretch has its own lifeguards and a food and umbrella concession. If you'd rather not be there, stay on the southern end of the park. Dogs are allowed off-leash on one marked section, between Lifeguard Tower 2 and Lifeguard Tower 3. ## The walk on the way If you'd like to see the inlet without going all the way into the park, try Bal Harbour's beach. A coquina jogging path runs behind the dunes from Haulover Inlet south to Surfside, and the public way onto the beach is at 96th Street. The Atlantic is also a short walk from our gate, and we have sunbeds and umbrellas waiting there for you. Many of our guests make Haulover a half-day outing and come back to the courtyard pool, which is open from sunrise to sunset. --- ## What Is NoBe in Miami Beach? North Beach, Explained by Its Neighbours Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/answers/what-is-nobe-miami-beach > NoBe is the local shorthand for North Beach, the residential northern end of Miami Beach on the barrier island between Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic. It's known for MiMo (Miami Modern) architecture, wide and uncrowded beaches, Ocean Terrace and Normandy Isle, and it runs up toward Surfside and Bal Harbour. We're on Harding Avenue in the middle of it, at number 7418. ## Where NoBe is NoBe sits at the northern end of Miami Beach, on the same barrier island as South Beach but at the far end of it, between Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic. Normandy Isle, just across the water on the bay side, counts as part of the area. To the north the island carries on into Surfside and then Bal Harbour, where Bal Harbour Shops sits. We're at 7418 Harding Avenue, which puts us in the middle of North Beach rather than on its edges. ## What it's like North Beach is residential first. The buildings are mostly MiMo (Miami Modern) apartment blocks and oceanfront condominiums, and the beaches are wide and noticeably less crowded than the ones further south. Daily life runs on foot: local cafés, the Ocean Terrace strip by the sand, and concerts at the bandshell. If you want late-night clubs, other parts of Miami will suit you better. If you want to hear the ocean from your sunbed, this is the end of the island to be on. North Beach still has its soul. ## Staying here We're a 29-room house in a 1948 building, with a courtyard pool, a gym and sauna, and a short walk to the beach, where we keep sunbeds and umbrellas for guests. Our front desk is staffed around the clock. For what to do once you're here, our North Beach short list and 48-hour itinerary are the places to start. --- ## The Miami Beach Trolley in North Beach: How We Use the Free Collins Express Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/answers/miami-beach-trolley-north-beach > Yes, the free Miami Beach trolley serves North Beach. The Collins Express runs from Washington Avenue and Lincoln Road in South Beach up to 88th Street, with stops near the Miami Beach Bandshell and North Beach Oceanside Park. It runs daily from 8am to 11pm, with a trolley about every 20 minutes. For places off Collins, you ride the Express and change to one of the loops. ## The line that matters up here The Collins Express is the trolley you'll use from North Beach. It runs north and south along the Collins corridor, from Washington Avenue and Lincoln Road in South Beach to 88th Street, and it stops near the Miami Beach Bandshell and North Beach Oceanside Park. It's free. Service runs daily from 8am to 11pm, roughly every 20 minutes. After 11pm, plan on a rideshare back to us. ## Changing lines The city runs four trolley routes: the Collins Express, the Middle Beach Loop, the North Beach Loop and the South Beach Loop. For anything off Collins, you ride the Express and change. Our usual example is the Miami Beach Botanical Garden at 2000 Convention Center Drive. Take the Collins Express southbound from North Beach, transfer to the Middle Beach Loop, and allow 45-60 minutes including the wait and the change. The same trip by car or rideshare takes 15-25 minutes, depending on traffic. ## When we'd take a car instead The trolley is the patient option, and we like it for that. If you're short on time, or heading home after 11pm, a rideshare is quicker. For anything within a 15-20 minute walk of our gate on Harding Avenue, North Beach Oceanside Park included, we'd simply walk. Ask us at the desk for the nearest Collins Express stop. We're there around the clock. --- ## Parking in North Beach, Miami Beach: The Public Lot on 72nd Street We Use Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/answers/parking-north-beach-miami-beach > For parking in North Beach, Miami Beach, we send guests to the City of Miami Beach public lot P92 at 299 72nd Street, near Collins Avenue, about two blocks from our door at 7418 Harding Avenue. We don't offer on-site parking or valet. Most of our guests who drive leave the car at P92, the City of Miami Beach public lot at 299 72nd Street, near Collins Avenue. It's about two blocks from our door at 7418 Harding Avenue. ## What it costs and how long you can stay Rates are generally around $1 an hour. Pull in there, unload with us, then take the car round to the lot. Our front desk is staffed 24 hours, so a late arrival is fine. ## Skipping the car Many guests don't need one. From the airports, most guests take an Uber or Lyft straight to our door. --- ## Is Surfside Part of Miami Beach? No, and Here's Where the Line Falls Source: https://www.maisonfelix.miami/answers/is-surfside-part-of-miami-beach > Surfside is not part of Miami Beach. It's a separate town in Miami-Dade County, incorporated on May 18, 1935, that runs from 87th Street to 96th Street between the Atlantic and the Indian Creek waterway. The City of Miami Beach lies directly south; its North Beach area, where we are on Harding Avenue, ends at Surfside's line. **Surfside is a separate municipality.** It has its own mayor and town commission, its own ZIP code (33154), and about half a square mile of land. The 2020 census counted 5,689 residents. Its borders run from the Atlantic to the Indian Creek waterway, between 87th and 96th Streets, which gives the town one mile of beach. **Why people mix the two up.** Surfside sits on the same barrier island as Miami Beach, and the streets don't change as you cross the line. Harding Avenue, our street in North Beach, carries on north into Surfside's business district between 94th and 96th Streets. In the late 1930s Miami Beach even looked at annexing part of what is now Surfside. It never happened, and the town has kept its own government since 1935. **Where we sit.** We're at 7418 Harding Avenue, inside the City of Miami Beach, in North Beach. Surfside starts at 87th Street, just to our north. Our guests walk up into it for the quieter streets, and the sunbeds and umbrellas we set out on the beach a few minutes east of our gate are on the Miami Beach side of the line. **Good to know.** Surfside's small size is the point. There's no resort strip, the shopping is a few blocks of Harding Avenue, and the beach behind it is wide and quiet. For what to do once you're there, see our Surfside guide. ---
